Posted by wine+art (re: Philipponnat) in the, "What are you Drinking" thread:

"...The pinot just jumps out of the glass.

A wonderful wine, and the '91 is also stunning.

They did suggest decanting. Eek If skoshy will bring this to tomorrow nights Priorat offline we can try decanting. Big Grin

A food wine for sure in my opinion. Darn, your making me want to pop one as we speak. I'm not working tomorrow... Cool..."

If I'm not bringing "Bubbles", am I still welcome??? Confused Wink Smile Big Grin (I've rustled up a mag of something good, baby.) Smile

I'm thinking a '96 Pol Roger Winston Churchill might be in the stars tonight.

Wahoo! Smile How could I forget that you, WIML, PURPLE, and I enjoyed that recently due to Kevin's generosity. Slammin' good stuff...although the '88 mag you'd brought to Philly ruined me (in a good way). Smile

We can hope the '96 will turn out to be the wine the '88 was. Smile

Champagne & Priorats? Throw Skosh into the mix and that's one heckuva combination! Smile I'm looking forward to reading all about it.

Too sweet, Festiva. Smile Because the company and wines were so good, I didn’t even notice there was no Champagne. Eek Wink Smile

It was a pleasure to meet wine+art’s friend from Priorat, Roger, and his wife Shannon (from Los Angeles). I enjoyed their, "how we met", story (took place at De Tapas - differing accounts of who "hit on" whom though)… Big Grin

I believe escape brought three fantastic wines, two of which were in my top wines of the night. 2000 Abat Domenech & 2000 Philippe Delesvaux SGN. The '97 Les Terrasses and the '95 Finca Dofi were the other two that made me very happy. Wink Smile

Alas, wine+art reached over a platter of blood sausage to wrest pen & paper from me. One day he'll allow me to do tasting notes...
