Maryland is to winemaking as Oklahoma is to tuna fishing. I love MD, but I'm going to save my taste buds and brain cells for other vino. Do come join us at an offline one day! Just leave the MD wine at home!!!

to be fair, i've actually had some pretty good cab francs from MD wineries. that definitely seems to be the grape they have the most success with. but on 9/15 i'll be at the virginia wine festival. there, it's chardonnay that definitely seems to be the pick of the vine.
The number of successes I've had vs. the number of failures has me reluctant to continue the exercise. I'm sure there is a great Italian restaurant somewhere in Uzbekistan, but it's just not worth the torture to go find it!!

PH: It's rather a long way to get there, but if you happen to be in Tashkent (the capital of Uzbekistan), you ought to try Restaurant Tiyon. Italian food with an Uzbek flair.

Sounds like an offline is in order! And we can visit another place that shouldn't be making wine, either! Clicky......

Semi serious question here, sarbuze. Why encourage this kind of behavior? Perhaps they should just stick to growing tobacco. Oh, yeah...... Nevermind......
