+1. We may be into magnum or 2 bottles of the same wine territory already! Smile

Not my thread either but we may need to break into tables like Chicago is doing if the numbers keep growing. A one once pour is hardly a taste.

True enough. Presently we have 'committals' from a total of 16, with 4 on the 'tentative' list (including W+A & PH). Historically, the odds of a few dropping out are high. Thus, with 3 months to go I've not been overly anxious. However maybe we should cap it now and change the 'tentative' to a 'waiting' list. Agreed? I agree, there's some great wine planned and it'd be nice to have but a tiny taste. We can sort this out.

Last chance for EVERYONE to speak up before the velvet rope gets put up. If others want to join, we could indeed break into a couple of tables. Most important thing for these things, is to keep it simple.

At 16 people and one table, we are at about a 1.5 oz. (single shot) pour. This is a decision for our Montreal hosts but it would be nice to have enough of pour to taste.

+1. But we are quite far away from the day so lets revisit down the road.

2 or more tables might be a good option. The wines will most certainly be better also. It seems some people are hesitant in bringing very old or rare wines if there are 20 people at a single table.

Either way, I am looking forward to it and am confirmed!

Question.... is there a Starwood hotel nearby (Sheraton, Weston, Four Points)?

Points well made. How about we break into tables of 8. With 16 people presently planning on attending, that's 2 tables and very reasonable pours (admittedly, I found THAT the most eye opening agrument Razz). No? Sound good?

Names will be drawn from a hat to determine table assignment. Can't get more fair than that. More can come, based upon tables of not more than eight. At YO-YO's that would be 3 tables in the back room (24 people) and taking it for ourselves.

So now, no excuses for not bringing your "very old or rare wines". Cool

So be it! Wink Big Grin

There's a Sheraton and a W. I'm sure you can guess which one I prefer. :P

You'll find all of them in town, mostly congregated in the city center(ish). I took a quick look at Starwood's site and nothing is significantly closer than the others. So decide based upon your budget and preferences. Any place you choose, it won't be an expensive taxi ride by any means.

1990 Krug (Baird +1)
1970 Taylor (Baird +1)

I am bringing the 1990 Krug and 1970 Croft.

The Taylor is my last bottle (thought I had two) and my wife's birth year. That will be opened on her 40th to help dull the pain! Wink

This offline is SO far away, so my selection may even change again (I highly doubt it though) if I manage to find some 1980's Right Bank wines in my travels. Smile

Not as bad as you might think. Ask wine+art about her (Vin Classic).
