To the kind Canadian folks:

I found out today that the business I was to conduct in New York around this time has fallen through, so I will not be attending the off-line. I appreciate the courteousness with which you greeted my inquiry and hope to meet some of you some day.

PLENTY of time. With most of the locals still needing to declare...(hint)... and possible adjustments, additions, subtractions, etc. 10 pages is certain.

Doesn't take too much organization at this size. Pick the place, pick the wine. Just keep it simple. Wink

Looks like Leanne and I are in umless work travel rears it's ugly head (generally not on weekends thought).

I am really lean on older right banks. The best I could likely do would be a 1995 Pavie Decesse and a 1998 Troplong Mondot. Or sacrifice a 2001/2001 ST Emilion. I will dig through the cellar to see if I am missing something.

How about a 1970 Vintage Port or top Sauternes for dessert? I have lots of champagne also... 1990 Krug, 1996 Pol Roger Cuvee Winston Churchill, 1995 Gosset Celebris, etc.

Let me know your thoughts....

I knew I liked this man! Big Grin

Baird, if you can find (hard) the Gosset Blanc de Blanc, BUY,BUY, BUY. They make so very little of it, (1500-1700 cases) and export even less to North America. I had it at Gosset in November, and had to beg to buy 6. There are only a few things I will beg for. Wink

Baird-
Happy to see you'll likely make it. You've been moved off the 'Tentative' list. Wink

Champs (1990 Krug Winkmmm), Ports and Sauternes are all welcome, certainly. They'll balance the whole evening event. I liked all your suggestions but for the 2001's. Let em' sleep.

mareff's right. This IS shaping up to be one very nice evening. Cool

1970 Taylor or Croft.

I thought I had a 1989 Rieussec but realized I drank it recently at an offline. Frown Most of my remaining Sauternes is 2001/03 or cheap. I am going to pass on bringing a Sauternes.

1970 Taylor or Croft.

The 70 Taylor could be interesting indeed.
However, no one is suggesting that you pull that '90 Krug off the table, Baird. That's exciting me the most, personally! Cool

Hello Darcey,

I am sure we can accomodate more people, right KSC02?

May I make a suggestion, KSC02. Unless we reserve the back room at Yoyo's, is Christophe a better venue for this given the amount of of people coming?

Just an idea-don't want to hijack this in any way shape or form.It would be so unlike me. Wink
