I have access to a decent range of vintages from La Conseillante to pull from. Again, if you would rather I not attend, no hard feelings.

I would love to meet you. You are more than welcome, of course. Smile

Unfortunately, I am travelling alone this time - a business deal. I probably won't know for sure for a little while, but as soon as my plans are set, I will respond back.

Thanks

KSO2,

You seem to have left Mr. & Mrs. PlanoWino off the list. Is there something I should know?

Thanks KSCO2. I wouldn't want to have to drink alone. Just got back from an offline with WIML and wine+art. They send greetings.

Glad to see you made it home, and survived that dreadful California Cab slipped in our Bordeaux tasting.

Gag!

While we did wave the 1947/1949 rule, we DID mention that this theme was indeed "Aged" Right Bank Bordeaux, eh? Roll Eyes

(Geez, give an inch, take a mile) Eek Big Grin

I would imangine 10 years would at least allow us to not be considered committing complete infanticide.

Well let's see one of the two WS says drink after 2004 so I assumed it was aged properly
and the other it says 2008 and after so I also assumed it was aged properly

I didn't realize there was a "10" year rule on this one. From what I read it said "aged appropriately"

I will have to rethink then

?????? huh?

Miss M.= You've not had the pleasure of meeting the infamous W+A. Razz

FYI: At this time, the theme is DEFINATELY Right Bank and the Vintage is "AGED OPEN VINTAGE" meaning, any Vintage but one 'appropriately aged'. Smile

Yes, steve8 will need to dig down below his 2005's Big Grin[/QUOTE]

See your reply, hence my declaration I assumed if WS said it's ready, then it's ready

MM-
I`m not trying to 'impose' a '10 yr rule' by any means. However, as most are making the effort to assemble something 'aged' vs. 'approachable' (two different things entirely Wink) I suppose that's the mindset I assumed we're in. I'm open to other's opinions, certainly. However, I got the feeling most all were thinking similarly.

Hi KS
Ok, I really have no desire to get into a debate/argument/whatever on this.

Since it was "open vitange" aged appropriately, what and who decides what is "age appropriate" As I said, a)if WS said it was appropriate to drink then I consider it appropriate. b)While there may be a difference as to what is approachable or what one consideres appropriately aged, that in itself is subjective.
c)open vintage does not imply "at least 10 years" so if a 2001 which is 7 years is not sufficient so then in fact there is a "#" on the theme which then changes things entirely.
Just saying aged appropriately open vintage leaves a lot of room for interpretation.
d) very often one might wish to taste at different times to make comparisons. I recently purchased 2 bottles of the same wine/vintage one will age for say 5 years and the 2nd bottle will age for 8 - 10 years so that I can compare.

Now if you or anyone else wishes to change the theme and put a "vintage specific" then I fully understand.

As per the other OL, there was a vintage and I had no problems following that theme either as you can see by my declarations.

I hope this clarifys what I'm trying to convey.

Have a great day, I await others opinions. Smile

Bring another wine.

I think that JM or JS said that they have structured sets on how they can post drinking windows. I know that someone asked JS about drinking windows for wines from the 2000 vintage, and although his initial window said drink from 2006-20xx, he said on the boards not to open them since they would be closed.

re: The Right Bank theme.....

Maybe I need a geography lesson, but isn't Branaire-Ducru a St. Julien? Confused

Yes but determining the left or right bank depends on which way you are looking the Gironde river.. Razz

KSC02,

I'm confused! First, who waved the '47 & '49 theme, and why does a 2004 St. Julien Bordeaux not fit the appropriately aged Right Bank theme? Wink

One more question if I may... are there any open seats for this offline? Razz
