I would drink up if you get this wine. CdM are early drinking wines in my opinion. |

I'm thinking we just pop, pour and enjoy. However, I'm open to the Montreal formites suggestions if this is something other than what they'd prefer.. |

At this time I'm thinking of a Chateau Beau Sejour Becot St Emilion
And a Chateau Bonalgue Pomerol. I reserve the right to change my mind |

I was outbid of the Ch Certan Du May..
So instead I have a bid down on the Chateau Pavie Macquin, 1989... |

It looks like you are beginning to declare. Probably won't have duplicates anyway but just in case: My wife and I will bring a 1990 Chateau Trotanoy and a 1996 Chateau L'Evangile. That is if I don't forget between now and then.

Don't worry, we'll remind you... |

PW, I have had both of these beauties. In my opinion, the l'Evangile will drink well early, and give the Trotanoy plenty of air. It is still a big wine. Enjoy! |

I love Trotanoy, and though I haven't had the '90, the one's that I did have from the mid 1990's were fabulous. I agree with w + a to decant first for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

Your name is notably missing from the list of attendees, Dok. Great time for you to visit... |

KSCO2,
I'd love to attend with Mrs. DP, but we'll be with asterixis and his wife in Tuscany until July 27th. That's why I posted earlier to see if we could try to do this a little later. I'll catch up with you in Montreal eventually. That's a promise. (WITH, my wife.) |

Decant? Like I carry a decanter in my suitcase. How do you world travelers usually handle this?

No stress, PW. Three ways to handle this one: 1)You bring it with you and meet one of the Montreal gang prior to the 'official' offline and one of us will double splash decant it for you (appropriate sips taken to dial it in, of course 2)You pass the bottle off to one of the gang in Chicago, where it's taken back and...well... same process. 3)Bring an extra large suitcase. |

Yikes. That's right, you DID say that. Sorry Dok. However, you'll be doing just fine over in Italy, with asterixis. |

Thanks KSC02. I think #1 will work best. Now all I need to do is to talk someone into coming by the rent house early. There might even be a decanter at the house which would solve the problem. They do have a 70 bottle wine fridge. Good sign. Will also need to get a name and address on the restaurant once it has been set so I can give it to the taxi driver.

Just WHAT IS a "portable" decanter? I picture some collapsable camping version... |

No I bought it in Napa at BV, it's a glass thing, you hold it over a wine glass and pour the wine through it. It's an instant decanter It's small |

Ahhhh... I believe you'll want to refer to THAT as an "Aerator". A much more accurate/proper description. |

That is exactly it. After 3 glasses of a nice Bordeaux, I could not remember the name. That's it works really well. Thanks |
