Canada has no 'issue' with Cuba. Wink

Thus Cigars, or any product, from Cuba is readily available. Along with regular flights to visit there personally.

There are several locations to purchase good Cubans in Montreal. Some of them are:

La Casa del Habano Montreal, 1434 Sherbrook Ouest Rez-de-Chausee, Tel: (514) 849-0037

Vasco Cigars, 1327 Rue Ste Catherine Ouest, Tel: (514) 284-0475

Blatter & Blatter, 375 President Kennedy, Tel: 514-845-8028

Mimik has suggested a good idea:
We could make reservations for 8-10 people at the Whiskey Cafe (on Blvd. St-Laurent) for a nice cigar and port/whiskey after our dinner. Any interest? Cool

I doubt they take reservations and I wanna see you guess what time we'll be finished at Yo-Yo. Big Grin

I'm thinking at LEAST post mid-night and, after some of the Ports we're sure to be partaking of, I'm thinking it may be a little 'anti climaxtic', so to speak.

Thanks K. Their tawnies seem pretty diverse and good (and would probably be the best ports to have with cigars) but as ever they have very limited vintage ports. Not to be critical, if was offering wines by the glass, I would wonder how to make money with vintage ports, unless I had one of those nifty wine-preservation systems.

Guys, I'm sorry but I can't make it this coming weekend.

I was sitting on the fence because one end of the trip *could* have been covered -- the flight out to Montreal, from Boston.

My trip out to Boston this week is cancelled (company travel policy got scaled back), and to make it from Windsor or Detroit is too far a trek. Really sorry about that.

As much as I was relishing being insulted to my face, I'll have to content myself to Baird's slams in the forum, only. Sad. Eek

Darcy,
Not trying to poke a stick, but I drive this every 3rd weekend! It's not that bad. Eek

Sorry you can't make it. Being in the general Detroit area (I'll include Windsor in that), we should really try to get together some time. Wink

I may have to bail as well.

I hate to do this with such short notice but my wife will likely be stuck in New York until Saturday afternoon and I can't get a babysitter for overnight.

I will confirm tomorrow, but it isn't looking good at this point. Frown

Yes. The dress code is very open. I've gone in jeans several times, and will likely do so Friday as well. Something other than a t-shirt would be best. Otherwise, it's completely open.

Well if you can't come Baird, go ahead and send the Krug and the Croft with one of buddies. Before long it will be only the couple from Texas and the brothers from Brooklyn there.

We are in Quebec City today and tomorrow and back on Thursday evening. Looking forward to meeting those of you who make it.

That IS 'last minute off-line cancellation' etiquette, isn't it? Wink

Hey KSC02. Can we bring a last minute couple along with us tonight? We can scramble and try to cover the wine. We have a couple of extra bottles but don't know how well they they have held up - ('95 La Fleur de Gay and '82 Feytet Clinet).

It is okay if the answer is no because this is absolutely at the last minute and we did not come that well prepared with wines. Unfortunately, we already consumed a couple of nice right bank wines earlier this week.

Thanks wine+art but we are just going to show up. We have been out so much that like KSC02, I haven't been checking the board. I can't imagine there will be a problem. Wine lovers are very agreeable people.
