I am ready to come. Been following the temperatures in Montreal and they are running 15 - 20 degrees cooler than here. Can't wait. Promise me it won't get Texas hot while we are there.

Is mareff +1 the only other statesiders coming besides us?

It does seem so. I tried to talk PH into coming but he's been quiet lately. I'll continue my efforts. Wink

At long last, I will finally be able to try that '89 Petrus that so far has escaped me. Thanks Dr. C. Looking forward to it. Big Grin

While not related to the topic, I finally noticed that my post count hasn't changed as I post. There must be some built in artifical intelligence that knows when a post is worth counting. Big Grin

It looks like I will be solo for this event now. My better half will be out of town for work and won't get back in time to join us. Frown

On the bright side, that resolves my problem of not having another suitable bottle for the theme. Wink

You are very generous - if I was attending, and you were near Scarsdale, I'd take up your offer! Smile

Be careful you don't get stung with tax and duty at the border. Not sure what the rules are for foreign visitors but Canadians are limited to 1.5 litres of wine per person.

Refresh my memory without me having to read through 10 pages of posts please. What is the stem situation for YoYo's? I don't plan on carrying mine from Texas.

Keep the temperatures down please. I have noticed they have been climbing a bit.

YoYo's stems are not bad. I've tasted from them on many occasions. I DO bring mine from time to time (when in the mood and willing to cart them along) and they have no issue with this. However, you should be fine.

Good thing you didn't painstakingly read through the 10 pages for this info. We never discussed it. Smile

Regarding the temps: It's been a wet, cooler than normal Summer. Summer is just now rolling in. It should still be lower than the 'bake an egg on the sidewalk' temps you cowboys endure.

Thanks for the info on stems. I really didn't want to try and drag them through the airport.

Maybe a few of us can get together during the week also. We will be there starting the evening of the 19th, leaving on the 27th. I am sure I can find something at the Plateau SAQ and a friend of mine said I need to visit #1 as well.

I had mentioned before that we will be bringing our 15 year old with us so if anyone has a teenager that might want to spend some time with a foreigner from Texas, I am sure she would appreciate it. Parents can be boring.

Not sure what you mean about boring mareff. But to a 15 year old, parents are indeed boring.

This kid is the last of five so I have been to the rodeo before. In fact, one of my daughters lives in Brooklyn (but not in the swanky area you live in).

I will do my best not to be boring. We don't talk about the kid unless asked and at an offline, no one asks. I was just trying to see if she could find a friend or two for some of the time we are there.

At least you will get to meet me before I show up in Brooklyn looking for an offline. You will know whether to be "out of town" or not. Big Grin

well we can at least converse about the fact that we almost moved to Plano about 20 years ago...and I would welcome your 10 gallon hat anytime in Brooklyn.

PW - if you run out of things to see and do in Montreal, or tire of people mocking your accent, or if the Montreal offline leads to you being arrested and you need to get out of town, Ottawa is less than 2 hours drive, is full of Americans and other people with funny accents, and we offer a mean offline here (ask the Montreal gang)! Big Grin

And I have a 16 year old daughter (though she'll be 17 in a week....)

Thanks bman. Only 2 hours you say. So why aren't you going to be in Montreal?

As for our daughters - 15, 16, 17, it is all the same. They are unfathomanable.

I would love to drive over for an offline on this trip but I fear the drive back after an offline.
