Late to this thread. Have never attended an offline and am interested especially as I might be in LA around this time. Where is this being planned? And is there still room?

BER, I'm too lazy to type everything again, just scroll up for the infos.

Back to the wine, I'll be bringing a mag of '90 Pio Cesare Barolo.

I think Ms. Lotko's automated repsonse greeting needs to be recalibrated....and if any pharmacutical reps happen to show up, can you please bring plenty of samples, whatever, no specific theme, although I am partial to "Pams"-(i.e.diazepam); just mix it up a bit!
Thank You

I have been offline all weekend, cable line got cut.
BER, yes there is room. You are welcome, please just let me know for sure ASAP.
The drug lady is right, Antonello's has great ambience.
ArieS, that Pio sounds like a wonderful addition.
I am still deciding which Barolo or Montelcino to bring.

Deryl-

If there is still room, I would like to come as well. I will most likely bring the 2001 Feudi di San Gregorio Serpico (RP98) unless someone would prefer a brunello (1999 or 1997).

I'm in for (1). Possibly (2). I'll know by tomorrow depending on schedule.

I'm not sure what I'm bringing other than it won't be from Italy.

Do we have something sweet to cap off the night yet? If not, put me down for one of those...

There will be plenty of room for whomever wants to attend.

I do not think I have ever had an RP98 before, so by all means bring it. It will be a treat. I am getting anxious.

Pyang is down for one sticky.

Antonello's suggested substituting pasta for the salad course. I agreed. Good idea?

Pasta instead of salad sounds like a very good idea.

As for the RP98, I'm sure its overrated, but since it is still available at retail (Woodland Hills Wine Co), I figure I should try one of my bottles and see if I want more before its gone....

But Anyhow--back to the real subject--

hey, do any of you guys know--I am not up on anything Italian Vino--what should I do with this Sassicaia, it's a 1988-
should I decant it at home--at the restauarant--not at all?

PE,

Why don't you pop the cork in the afternoon, taste it and go from there. If it does not need any decanting time, just shove to cork back in the bottel, no harm done.

If it needs to be decanted, run it through one of those aerating funnels.
