Have fun Irwin!

PH, I'll take a third or fourth of the Cadeau if you guys are up for sharing.

No word on the 18th yet, I'll test the waters at an opportune time.

PH and Festiva, you've got mail!

By the way, anyone have a suggestion for a restaurant in Boston this Saturday night? I am in Emmitsburg this week for a conference and leave directly from here (via BWI) for Boston Thursday evening. By the time Saturday night arrives, I'm going to need a really good bottle of something and a meal to knock my socks off.

I'll contact the chef soon and get working on a menu. May make it easier to back into wines, or a theme. Will advise. So far we're:

PH (1 with a possible 2nd)
irwin (1/2?)
Festiva (2)
Gentleman farmer (1)

cometspider is cracking me up! Razz Just do it! Big Grin

dinwiddie, TJ? This is another one close to home. What say you? We need some interboard socialization....

We haven't firmed-up our holiday plans, but I might have a shot at the 18th. I know I'll be in Philly for awhile; but I don't know when yet. I probably need to get back to Baltimore to visit my "day job" customer again. Perhaps I can catch them on the 19th.

But will you allow me to crash two of your parties?

Is there a theme?

You are hereby granted permanent crashing rights at all MD offlines! Big Grin The only requirement is an occasional contribution of your tasty Le Cadeau PN!!

I'll have contacted the chef by the end of the week, and we'll have a better idea of what's to eat. We can figure out a theme in the next week or so, I hope. It would be nice to see you again. I'm headed downtown this week, and will float the promised trial balloon then. Crossed fingers.... Smile

If there is room for one more, I'd love to join in the fun on the 18th. Also BHVineyard, please let if your interested in a Philly offline. There are several currently posted on the Parker board including one I'm hosting on November 30 ("mature wine offline"). I don't know when you'll be in town but I'm sure we can put a dinner together if one is not already scheduled.

Joshua,

I'm heading out to Oregon tomorrow to pour our wine for the next two weekends. I'll be very busy for the next 10-days, and likely not online much.

Will turn my attention to December travel plans thereafter. Tentatively, its looking like I'll be in Philly from 12/17 to 12/27. The 17th to the 19th are booked. Perhaps something thereafter could work. Meanwhile, hope to meet at the MD offline, if these plans work out.

Thanks for the Philly offer; I'll try to make it work too.

TM,

I'm sure we could get the guys together midweek for a nice dinner. Do you know where you will be staying in Philly?

Joshua Pollak,

You are more than welcome to come join us. Even if it's a late decision, just let us know! I'll hope to speak with the owner of the Rooster Cafe today sometime, and give more details on menu etc. before the weekend is up. BHV, I'm headed downtown this afternoon to chat with my friends, about Oregon Pinots in particular.

PH,

You are duly forgiven... (carb overload can cause such things!)

Hope everyone in our group had a wonderful day yesterday!

I've left a message for the owner/chef. Awaiting a response. I have not forgotten! cometspider, have you found an opportune moment to query your bride? MD offliners, shoot back some confirmations when you can so I can work on firming up menu/attendees with the chef.

PH--thanks for taking the lead with Mark and the Rooster Cafe.

Much as I would like to attend, I will be returning from CA that day.

When in doubt, open another bottle.

Sorry you can't make it dinwiddie. One of these days...... Smile

Here is the proposed menu. Price $70 per attendee:

Warm Smoked Salmon
with Potato Custard and Osetra Caviar

Chilean Sea Bass "en Barigoule"
with Parmigiano Reggiano

Seared Foie Gras with Oxtail
and Candied Root Vegetables

Medallions of Venison
with Chanterelles, Pears,
Gooseberries, Pine Nuts and Turnips

Selection of Cheeses

Trio of Banana Tart,
Warm Chocolate Cake
and Malt Panna Cotta

Sounds delicious to me, but if you have any problems with any of the courses, please say something sooner than later. Once the menu is set, we can start working on wines to match. Any suggestions from the rest of the WS community on matches are always welcomed!!

Is there a wine theme?
