Sylvia and I are still talking about this evening. It was a real treat to be able to put faces to monikers (or to real names in the case of the 2 Erics), to meet so many new people, and to re-acquaint ourselves with others.

I'm sorry that I couldn't have spent more time talking to everyone (how many times has THAT comment been made after an off-line?), but a long rectangular table surrounded by other diners-- as well as wanting to actually eat my delicious dinner-- made it a bit awkward to move around much. It's a testimony to the lure of wine that so many of you were willing to come out on a Monday night-- and for some of you to drive such long distances-- just to share some food, juice, and conversation. As I said that evening, I really envy all of you having so many wine-loving, passionate friends in such reasonable proximity.

Thanks to all of you for making Sylvia and me feel so welcome and for bringing so many remarkable wines; special kudos to Lafon Rochet for making all of this happen. We really appreciate it.

Hope to see all of you in Walla Walla early July.
