CHEF BRUNO LOPEZ OF JAAN RESTAURANT AT RAFFLES L’ERMITAGE BEVERLY HILLS WELCOMES AWARD-WINNING FRANK FAMILY VINEYARDS AS HOST TO JANUARY’S “UNCORKED AT THE WRITER’S BAR”

(Beverly Hills, CA)—JAAN at Raffles L’Ermitage in Beverly Hills, 9291 Burton Way, and LA’s premier wine store, The Wine House, will host their upcoming “Uncorked at The Writer’s Bar” event on Wednesday, January 14, from 6–8 p.m. JAAN and The Wine House are pleased to offer guests an opportunity to taste some of Frank Family Vineyards’ award-winning wines with winery owner and former President of Disney Studios, Rich Frank. Executive Chef Bruno Lopez will pair delicious appetizers such as Duck Won Tons, Dungeness Crab and Avocado Rolls, Beef Satay with Asian BBQ Sauce, Seared Muscovy Duck Breast, and Seared Harley Farms Goat Cheese with a Warm Pear Compote.
Frank Family Vineyards is located in the heart of Napa Valley in the historic Larkmead Winery in Calistoga. Located just off of Highway 29, the winery is the 3rd oldest in Napa and is a must-see spot on the National Register of Historical Places. Frank Family produces very small quantities of highly sought-after wines available only at the winery and in select restaurants and wine shops. Frank Family Vineyards wines retail from $28.75 to $100 per bottle. The winery recently received accolades from the San Francisco Chronicle in a blind tasting that awarded their Napa Chardonnay as one of the top five produced in the valley. Likewise, the Wine Enthusiast honored the 1999 Rutherford Reserve Cabernet with an impressive 94 points. Rich Frank will pour a variety of wines produced, including the 2001 Napa Valley Chardonnay, the 2001 Rutherford Sangiovese, the 1999 Napa Valley Cabernet, the 1999 Rutherford Reserve Cabernet and a non-vintage Blanc de Blancs.
The cost for the event is $35, which can be paid by credit card by calling 310.385.5344. Smile In addition, JAAN will offer a special three-course menu for $45 following the event. The menu will include Pan Roasted Chili Spiked Carolina Quail with a Sweet Corn Pancake and Black Eyed Pea Salsa, a choice of either Chorizo Crusted Halibut Filet with a White Bean Ragout and Bordelaise Sauce or Five Spiced Marinated Duck Breast with Butternut Squash Risotto, Cranberry Compote and Cinnamon Infused Duck Jus and for dessert, a Chocolate Pecan Marshmallow Torte with Bourbon Pecan Butter Ice Cream. Space is limited for both, so make reservations early.

Hey Ed, Buy me a plane ticket and I am there.Wink

It was nice bumping into you in Tahoe this weekend. The 97 Shafer HSS we brought was not showing well at all. You didn't miss much on the wine front, but the food (Elk) was amazing thanks for the rec. That Restaurant is a must in Tahoe.

Hey Mike!

This event should be really well complimented for the wines. I wish you could make it. Sorry to hear that the Shafer HSS was not showing. (thanks for the tip. (As I look into the cellar)

The Elk at Evans in Lake Tahoe was one of the most tender cuts of wild game I have ever had.
Perfect with the 99 L'Ecole Merlot.
