Yes...I know that we haven't had a May offline yet. I have a lead on a nice restaurant in Baltimore, not fancy, where we can eat outside on a deck, on a Sunday evening, Mediterranean style food. Lots of olives, sundried tomato, tapanade, couscous, etc. A good place for Brunello, Chianti, etc. A friend of mine owns the place and said we could do our thing...decent glassware. I think we have to keep the name of the place off list, so email me privately. Not on Father's day, I suppose.
They have a nice lamb shank dish. Friday night they had grilled baby octopus. I had a pasta special, though. The owner wants a few sips. PH-- they have some really cute waitstaff!
Looks like June 7 (Sunday) is a likely date. I hear that Tom Mortimer (a/k/a BH Vineyards)- the owner of the Le Cadeau winery, will be in town and will likely join us. So, for now, we are 8-9 weeks away, but pencil in the 7th.
OK- We are set for June 7 (a Sunday) at 6:30. We'll be eating outside on the deck at the local restaurant whose name will be furnished to all who are interested by private email. The owner is cool with us bringing our wine and will be back to me with some details later. He has pretty nice stems. He asked me about "theme" and to let me know so he can plan. The menu is Mediterranean in nature. Italians? Pinots? It is not a place with heavy emphasis on meats. So, here are the topics for now: 1) Who is in? 2) Theme?

Looks like the restaurant wants to create a menu, at $75 per person, plus tax and tip of 20%, with no corkage fee. I've asked for a dish that is Pinot friendly (for BH Vineyards) and possibly there will be some Osso Bucco on the menu as well. More later.
