It is official. I will be in San Francisco and Napa (2 days in each) from December 1 through the 5th with my girlfriend celebrating my 40th birthday. I am open for an offline in either San Fran or Napa. I will flying into San Fran and staying there on the 1st and the 2nd, then heading up to Napa for 2 nights on the 3rd and 4th. Who is interested in a nice gathering of wine, food and good old fashioned fun. Post your thoughts and ideas. I know this is still 4 months away but I like to start things early.

I thought I would rekindle this thread. Is anyone up for meeting at a BYO friendly restaurant in Napa on December 3rd? We are staying in St. Helena.

I'm interested in SF. Napa is a bit too far with a newborn.

Houston's is free corkage, but the ribeye that I got there last week was not very wine friendly or very tasty.

Indigo is also free corkage.

I'm still game, but I don't know a wine friendly restaurant around the Union Square area.

Here's a list of restaurants with corkage fees from ebob:

I have a table reserved for 7:15pm on Sat 12/1 at a the restaurant called TWO. I have heard good things about the service and food. Their corkage is $15 but is waived if we get something of their list. Please post here if you can make it. I can also be reached at justinhome at msn dot com. Their website is two-sf.com

TWO is the second restaurant at 22 Hawthorne Street with TWO chefs. It’s a casual and contemporary restaurant with a groovy and funky design featuring many natural wood surfaces, a copper and concrete bar and wild coconut light fixtures. The menu is a reflection of both chefs’ evolving culinary tastes, and the food is lusty and satisfying.

We’re located in the exciting SOMA district of San Francisco, just a short stroll from the MOMA, the Moscone Center and Union Square. The restaurant is located in the original 1922 headquarters for the San Francisco Newspaper Company.

I'dub;
If you've not made a choice on restaurants for an offliner, you might try Cafe Claude. It's extremely close to Union Square, sitting in a quiet alley. Great, scaled-back French cuisine - country/peasant style - excellent service, and local musicians. $15 corkage. Mrs. K and I went there in '05 and really enjoyed the food, winelist, and service. Check them out on the web.

IW I've been holding out to see what my schedule looks like and it's not good.

I've got 12 acres to till and seed this weekend. Millie is starting on it on Friday but it looks like we'll be on a big push to finish up while the weather is good.

I will be in the winery Saturday morning (about 25 minutes from SFO) if you can swing by let me know, but Saturday night looks bad for us right now.

Stefania,

Thanks for the offer to swing by the winery. We do not arrive in SFO until about 1pm. I will not have a car until I pick one up on Monday morning. I appreciate the offer though.
