I've recently been spending overnights in Tampa every few weeks for work (which happens to be wine related no less).

I will be there this coming Thurs. overnight (May 3rd) and then again on Friday the 18th. Anybody up for an offline on either of these dates?

You may want to post on Wino Depot or Vinocellar - Juggernaut and Chilepepper are in the Tampa area and there more frequently.

Rob - I would be up for an Orlando offline. May 3rd I will be in Miami, but I could possibly be available for May 18th. I assume you are set on the location...

Redfan, not exactly set on a location at this time, except for the fact that as of now, the 18th poses an interesting scenario. I will be the co-host of a tasting at Ed's Fine Wines (retail shop) in Clearwater, but was actually thinking of doing something more social. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) I'm pretty much commited to this tasting, but it ends at 8pm, and would be interested in doing something afterwards, even though it'd be a late start.

For what it's worth, and not trying to endorse Ed's, the tasting would be a great warm-up, as I'd be one of the distro reps at this tasting with a total of 16 wines between the two of us reps. I'd certainly love to do something a little less formal after I'm done with this event, however. I'm open to suggestions, and could certainly make some myself.

Rob - Don't know if you'll continue to find yourself in Tampa, however, have you ever made it to Beaune's Wine Bar in Ybor? It's worth checking out.

I'm new to WS Forums, but would be open to a Tampa offline if you try to pull something together in the future. Pretty flexible when it comes to date and location...

RobM, Misha,

I haven't been paying attention for sometime here, but if either are still interested I know we'll be trying to get together at Ruth Criss with at least another couple in August.

Tampa folks, for St. Pete's sake...what is the current word on Bern's down there. They used to have an outrageous wine list?

Bern's is a MUST!

You can drink Bordeaux from the 40's for $500.
