It would have been great to attend this event. If only I lived closer to NYC.

It was excellent. They poured 1999 Cheval Blanc, 1995 d'Yquem, 1996 Krug, 1999 Dom, 1996 Dom Rose, 2004 Clos Apalta, Some late released Veuve Cliquot Reserves, and a hundred other wines, many of them from Moet and Krug. There was a Champagne and food pairing seminar where the Moet chef prepared a number of fine dishes to pair with Champagne. There was a sorbet with Sevruga caviar that had us all raving.
Just one more sip.

By the way, the Champagne pairing demonstration was presented by the Moet winemaker and Moet head chef. Moet White Star, which I've pretty much figured as a joke for many years, has been reformulated and is a much livlier, fruiter Champagne now. It's worth a try when a relatively modestly priced nonvintage sparkler is needed.
The Domaine Chandon Brut Rose held its own against the non vintage roses from France.
Just one more sip.

I think Domaine Chandon's sparklers are at the top of the class, with Schramsberg. Esp for the price ($13-16 for the reg NVs).

Are you sure that isn't the 10 glasses of wine you had before doing the talking? I'm sensing some palate numbing.....not that there's anything wrong with that

By the way some disappointing overpriced wines- 1999 Cheval Blanc, Casa Lapostolle RO BO RO (or was it BO RO BO), Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir, Krug Grand Cuvee, Newton Unfiltered Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Casa Lapostolle wine mentioned was a blend of Cabernet, Syrah, and Pinot Noir. Somebody must have been loaded when they dreamed that one up.
Just one more sip.
