Festiva, you really know to hurt a guy! The best champagne I've ever had the pleasure to taste, and I'm missing it...for my in-laws. Frown

Don't worry, CS. I'll swap the Heidsieck out for a bottle of Andre Cold Duck N.V.! Smile

Jace and I were musing offlist.
Looks like he and Ms. Jace are in for some cheeses.

1) Flutes: I have 4 normal flutes, 4 ok ones with some ribbing, and 11 small ones (like 2-3 oz). These latter are antiques that have slightly more open mouths, but certainly not like the Marie Antoinette Breast types. They might be good for comparisons. Even okay with us if Festiva uses them.
So, people might consider bringing some flutes.
2) Looks like we'll have 11 people. So far we have 5 bottles of Champs committed, if I added right. Probably could use another one or two, but I don't see us needing 11 bottles of Champs for 11 people.
Anyone got any other food ideas?
PH and GF: Cameras, please.

I agree. I think 14-15 would be more appropriate. Wink

Done.

I will bring flutes for myself so as to free up the house flutes for others. Just the kind of guy I am.... Razz

I don't want to tell tales out of school, but I saw a NV Billecart Salmon Brut Reserve and a NV Heidsieck Blue Top find their way into Gf's shopping basket during a recent DC wine acquisition run. I think they may be headed south on Sunday!! Cool

Cheese, Louise, 'tis. I'll bring flutes for us, more if needed, and a '96 Lenoble Grand Cru (bdb), if we're still adding. I don't think the Chandon from Brasil will stand the test. Might we drink some reds too, please, huh, really, huh? Any requests on the cheese's, we have a very smart cow (y goat), in the back yard.

I usually don't get up until a quarter to 5, actually. I guess all this planning for the December offline has me nervous. Big Grin

Rumor Control reporting:

    Cheesecake - confirmed

NV Billecart Salmon Brut Reserve and NV Heidsieck Blue Top; both confirmed

As for buckets, just use high-speed duct tape and strap 'em on the roof during the drive. It works wonders for chillin' Big Grin

Greetings - We are the friends of GF, and probably still don't have a clever or droll internet name.

We will offer to bring two bottles;

One from Tbilisi Georgia (name escapes me for the moment, and it is in Georgian which doesn't help) and will have to check the cellar but know I have some Domaine Carneros or Taittinger bottles. As for food I will update the list when I have a free moment to come up with a good pairing.

Chris & Donna

GF turned us onto this group, and although have not been able to participate I have been following the discussions each month. We are looking forward to the 23rd.

I hate to do this, but I'm going to have to bow out of this one. Looks like most of the family has decided to come into town on Sunday, rather than Monday. Mrs. F & I send our regrets and hope to see y'all next month for Rhones in January! Frown

Irwin, you can bring out the antique furniture and unlock the silverware now. Wink Hope to see you and your missus soon!
