Sorry for the delay pape, was trying to figure something out. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make this one. Between work and an unexpected family visit, I'm just a little too crowded this week. It's a bummer, as it sounds like some great wines will be poured! We should try to do these more often, I'll make sure to schedule better for the next one.

An email has been sent confirming me and the missus for Friday. We won't be there until 6:30/7:00ish, but we'll be there! I expect some stories from mareff on his winery tours.

Mareff, you must be in town. Let it be known if you want more local guidance. I haven't steered anyone wrong since yesterday.
Ms Bacchus, after opening the third corked bottle of this still young week, I understand "just in case"; but for sport, choose the one you want to have tasted blind.
Mjraica, let's keep in contact with BRR, and anyone else who can't make it this week, and try for another date soon. We will never exhaust the supply of interesting wines. It's a challenge for me to keep my cellar pruned.
Let it be known I am always available to assist with the consumption of a good bottle. There is absolutely nothing in this for me, its just to help you by providing a second opinion!

At least a half dozen of us will be on site with glasses in hand by shortly after 5PM. Other won't arrive until as late as 7:30, so this will not be a "sit down, give'm a score, knock back the remainder" tasting, nor is it a "dinner party", although there will be enough food to make it the evening meal.
Come whenever it is comfortable for you within that range.
pape - thanks so much for your generous hosting. some really, really wonderful wines. great seeing everyone last night. mareff, have a safe flight back to NY.

1994 Cos d'Estournel
1970 Dow's Porto
14 and 16, I'm not sure if I just missed these two, or if we didn't use these labels. My personal favorites for the night were the '87 Bodegas López and the '94 Cos. I've never had an aged Tempranillo and was very surprised at the ageability. And who doesn't like aged Bordeaux?
Please all correct any mistakes I made in recording

Allow me to echo the gratitude expressed by others for the generous hospitality shown by Pape and Mrs. Pape. It was great to finally meet some more of the locals and enjoy the fantastic wine and conversation.
And then there was that mareff character...you New Yorkers really need to keep him locked up!

There were two wines that were never opened, so the numbers 14 and 16 were not used. Many bottles were not emptied, so obviously the extras were not needed.
The Rocher des Violettes is by Xavier Weisskopf.
The Clivi is in detail, i Clivi Colli Orientali del Friuli Galea di Ferdinando Zanusso.
The Chambolle was 2000 Jean Raphet et Fils Chambolle-Musigny. Be the first to post a note on cellartracker.
Speaking of which, let's get some tasting notes up here. The other off-liners are putting the NW to shame.
