Hi all. Received an email (thanks!) for a heads up on this. I'll check the calendar and report back. Thanks for volunteering to hose, pape!
Cheers!

You need some editing, BRR, or else you will be hosed. I expect you here on the set date.
I don't have the contact for mneely. He has missed a few of these events. Can you connect?
Elaborating on the theme, in order to allow participants to get selections in order, is anyone interested in a NW vs. all those others challenge?
We have to set a max. price point to give the NW a fighting chance against first growths, CA cults, and DRC. On the second thought, if anyone wants to put one of those up, I'll source the best I can find in WA and OR, and be a (Grace)ious loser.

I've been holding off as I'm usually not sure what I'm doing that far in advance, and I didn't want to overcrowd. But it sounds good to me. I have a deeper stock of good WA reds than I do "World", unless you include whites, then we're talking German rieslings.

Of course if you bought a first growth twenty years ago for $40.00, then I say bring it!
What brought the idea to mind was a thread on the ebob board in which several posters claimed Oregon PN is not competitive QPR. I find it dollar for dollar a better value than CA or Burgundy. That could just be personal taste or chauvinism. I think the same about WA Bordeaux grape blends, and some think Syrah is now the star for the state. Others thoughts? Building a tentative list: BRR +1 jaimerae mareff mjraica mneeley myself +1 Did I miss anyone? Any more pluses? I can easily recruit more participants, but I'll wait for response here first. More people = more flights of wine. Too many = small pours and fading attention span.

Bring a Wash Red if you make it. If it has some age then I think it will be an interesting comparison on the agibility of the Reds.

I have no problem with Oregon Pinot.

Oregon Pinot for one flight. Bordeaux grapes or Rhone for another? All Pinot? Preference?
Anyone up for championing a country or region? I've got a wide range and can fill in gaps.

There was a nice wine store right near the Pike Place Market. As you face the market from town, it was a block to the right.
Just one more sip.

Mareff,
Costo sucks donkey.
Try Esquin for selection. They have a library section of wines that is surprising considering how highly sought and allocated the wines are. I'm talking Bond, Dunn, Hundred Acres, Leonetti, among those which I noticed walking by.
I used to frequent Pike and Western (in the Pike Place Market) when Ron Irvine was the proprietor. I haven't kept in touch, but the market is a must visit. If you are lucky, you will see naked PETA protesters at the hurled fish stall. Buy your salmon across the way.
I can point you to some smaller wine shops if you have the time and inclination.

Sorry about the delay. I'm in, but Mrs. BRR is out. Just lil' ol' me. I'm deep with Washington stuff, both with age and without, so I'd gladly bring that, if it's okay with everyone.
Cheers!

BRR,
Sorry that your wife can't make it, glad you can.
A WA Cab, Merlot, or blend from the turn of the century +or-2 sounds like a good prospect.
