JC - I would love to try the 01 Torre Muga. I tasted the 04 a ways back and it was outstanding.

Here's a selection of wines I put on my short list to bring. If anything strikes your fancy, just let me know.

WA Reds
04 Andrew Will Champoux
04 Betz Syrah La Cote Rousse
04 Cadence Ciel du Cheval

Bordeaux
00 Fleur de Bouard
01 Smith Haut Lafitte

CA Reds
04 Anderson's Conn Valley cab
01 Lewelling cab
05 Tablas Creek Esprit de Beaucastel

Italian
98 Parusso Barolo Mariondino

Whites
05 Charles Gruber Puligny-Montrachet Les Charmes (fairly New World style)

That certainly strikes my fancy... but, of course, the whole list is good, so whatever you bring will be great.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Another vote here for the SHL. ALso, we could bring an 01 Clerc Milon or Carruades de Lafite if we wanted an 01 Bordeux face-off

I like this list and vote. Here's what I was thinking of:

Bordeaux:
88 Cos
86 Cos
03 Pavie
01 Mouton
04 Leo Las Cases
03 Leo Barton

or

01 Ornellaia

Let me know what you guys want to try.

My vote is for the 86 Cos. Your other wines are great wines, but need way more time (except for the 88) to show their best and are probably shut down right now. With the big investment you made, better to let them give a better return down the road. I had the 03 Pavie shortly after release and it was very open then but still needed time to meld into the silky, elegant wine Bordeaux's generally become. Is the 01 Mouton the one with the car story? If so, it may make sense to bring it instead.

Wow- you are clearly not screwing around - one of the Cos's or the Ornellaia would be my vote.

Its my first offline, I want to make sure I am invited to the next one. Wink Really though, I have very few friends who are into wine any where close to as much as I am, so I always look for an opportunity to share good bottles with people who will appreciate them.

Vinole, the mouton wasnt left in my car. That was the 03 Margaux. Mad

I don't think you are going to have a problem in that regard - in a similar vein, although we may bring a surprise wine, I promise it will not be from Bulgaria like the last time we off-lined at Bistro Provence (even though my security guard kindly brought me back another bottle and assured me this one should be better than the last one).

Sounds good - I have not run these by MLV yet, but let me know if there is interest in the following -don't know if peopel want us to bring a white and red or 2 reds, let us know if there is any opinion.

For whites, we could bring:
1999 Zind-Humbrecht Pinot Gris Rangen de Thann Clos St. Urbain
2000 Trimbach Gewurztraminer Vendanges Tardives (for something a little sweeter)
2001 Muelenhof Auselese Riesling
ANy of a number of assorted 03 Rieslings

For Reds - lots of options - Let me know preferences - we have an 01 Torre Muga I have been eying. Could bring a priorat - a 2000 Bordeaux a long the lines of Prieure Lichine, Haut Bages Liberal or Armaillac; a CDP or any varietal from Cali, Pinot, Syrah, Zin - whatever. If anyone has a preference, let me know.

I was planing on bringing a Priorat and a white bordeaux.

Really looking forward to this!!!
