For the sake of clarity, I believe the colloquial term in the New Orleans jurisdiction is "ass-whooping."
My work is done here. |

It's going to be 100 degrees there in July. The only bird you'll find is the Koo-Koo Bird.
Maybe a Roadrunner. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ http://seattle.vinocellar.com |

Tyee: I thought of Tsunami too, but thought I'd leave him for Bman to coax.
May have to put together something like a '63, '66, '70, '77, '83, '85, '87...thing, or a couple dozen if certain people come. Queen: You're all welcome, but there will be 6-7 adolts & 4 kids in our castle. We usually dine at Trout House Saturday night, have lunch, drinks & appies once or twice. You may recall that I wrote last year that we all prepared New Orleans food the same night as your Swamp & Stomp. I've never golfed there, usually at La Pine, which is more my speed (but still too fast.) I'll play tennis every day. It could also be so hot in W.W. that we wish it were only 100. I'll need to borrow a cellar. |

'63 was a great year.

I have sent a private e-mail to Tsunami to see if there is any chance of him attending, but his e-mail filter is notoriously effective.
And we are still a big maybe..... How far a drive would the venue be from Seattle and Vancouver (counting border-crossing-time and not)? snow sucks, cold is worse....... |

The Queen or Sir Willy could answer the Seattle to Walla Walla question...though I think someone had told me it takes approx. 4 hours. Vancouver to Seattle is about 2 hours driving, then add whatever time you may be stuck at the border crossing (depending on which day and the time of day). Sure hope tsunami schedules the Soiree II into his itinerary. I offer sound advice. That's 99% sound and 1% advice |

I took the Seattle-Walla Walla drive the during my last visit. Somewhere between 4-5 hours is about right.

Vancouver to Yakima/Wenatchee, etc., is a good 4 hrs. Walla Walla looks more like 5 or 6 if traffic's good, when you see it on a map. I think most of the drive is 2-lane highway once you go off I-5.
Maybe QoH can provide better info? ----------------------------- Cheers. |

Thanks, pyang, that sounds about right.
Are you planning to relive that drive at the beginning of July? ----------------------------- Cheers. |

Seaquam,
Although the drive is pretty, but taking into the extra time and the cost of rental car, I am just going to fly directly into Walla Walla. At least that's the plan right now... --------------------------- 2003 Whirlwind Tour |

So where's the best place to fly into to get to Walla Walla? I've heard that Portland to Walla Walla is a shorter drive than Seattle. Is that true?

Hey guys, what's the cutoff date for this event? I'm strongly interested, but would have to consult my wife to see if her work schedule allows. If there are a lot of outdoor activities like canoeing, hiking and fishing, I could make a more persuasive case.

According to a regional road map it looks close...it appears Portland would be slightly closer (approx. 45-60 mi.). Pick the cheaper flight... I offer sound advice. That's 99% sound and 1% advice |

Pyang or anyone!!!!,
Hey, do you remember the night at Roux we were discussing this and Sir W mentioned an airport that Alaska/Horizon flies into approximately 45 minutes from Walla Walla? ********************************* "From wine what sudden friendship springs!" |

PE,
Pasco, Oregon. I believe you can fly there via Alaska/Horizon, same as Walla Walla. Will have to take the transfer in the small plane. --------------------------- 2003 Whirlwind Tour |

RedRedVine, I think you meant riding a mechanical bull to Walla Walla instead of driving or flying... |
