I haven't been on in ages.

I'll bring a 93 Royal Tokaji 6 puttonyos gold Label (not sure which since I have a few)
I'll also bring a Red for the meal, considering the line-up so far, might be a 96 Bordeaux (left bank)
Razzdbl mag of 96 Ducru? Eek Razz (DoktaP knows about this)

Bman,

I hate to spring this on you so late but I may have to bail out of the Ottawa tasting this time. Something has come up and I may not be able to make it. I hope it is not too late.

Could you put me down as "tentative" for now? If not, I'll graciously cede my seat.

But we've already alerted Amy that you're coming! Or is there someone else and you'd rather not tell her face-to-face? Razz Wink

No worries Mimik, there will be a place for you even if you show up unannounced.

Now that we are down to 13 or 14, I may extend an invitation to previous participants who have not yet chimed in here. Any objections?

If those who haven't posted their wines yet are unable to decide, I'll note that we have only one white so far....

Mimik says he cannot make it. Frown

Just visited Bocado to firm up arrangements. We'll be upstairs again, around a rectangular table to facilitate chit-chat, and we'll have dump buckets, one white and a couple of red stems each, a couple of decanters, and our own server. Not Amy, who it turns out is spoken for (is this why Mimik cancelled? Wink) and no longer works there anyways. I will try to remember to bring a couple of extra decanters.

Please try to arrive around 6pm. We'll probably sit down around 7-7:30, and take it from there. I forget the number but the restaurant is on Somerset between Bank and O'Connor.

Now, if only we could get a certain Bruins fan to post his wines, everything would be complete.... Razz

I want to be Peter. I get to cut off a Roman's ear.

Maybe you'd rather be Roman's ear. Then you'd get to cut off a Peter.

I bet THAT would have everybody talking for a long, long time.

We should be there shortly after 6. If I'm not there already, ask for Alan. And please check that the table is for 13 or 14, not 12. See you soon!

The final drinking roster:

DoktaP - 2 - 1990 Beaucastel (mag)
bman - 1994 Quilceda Creek cab
2001 Musar white
KSC02 - 1977 Taylor vintage port
vinaigre - 1989 Château d'Orschwihr Gewürztraminer Sélection de Grains Nobles
2001 D'Arenberg Dead Arm
2001 RWT Shiraz
2003 Pegau CdP
carriedca - 1993 Royal Tokaji 6 puttonyos gold Label
1996 Lynch Bages
Steve8 - 2004 Cadence
2005 Tardieu-Laurent Hermitage Blanc

Ahhhhh! A great evening spent with friends.

But for a couple of corked wines, all others showed well. Some spectacularly.

It was great to see you again Larry, Carriedca and bman!
