Wine Joe and I discussed this a bit, and one of us will host this (both of us are in North County). And since Caleb came through with his tasting notes, I guess we'll have to try and schedule this before he and Annie take off for the East Coast.
I'm suggesting either the 18th (would need to be in the evening for me) or 19th. What does everyone think?

OK, it'll be at our place then - not a problem. Anyone else hanging out there with a preference on date? I'm not in a mood to decide who can't make it, so maybe there's a tie-breaking vote out there.

clayfu good to see you over here as well as wl. the group is great. There seemed to be a shortage of sd wine lovers on WL so its quite easy to hook into the existing spectator group. Great group of people. Look forward to meeting you (im lpskeleton on WL)

Hey boyz.. back from up north.. hey did anyone get any of the Justification 05??? I went to their tasting and they said it was not released??? hum??? something is fishy... Hey SPO.. got a 100% Mourvedre for ya from Tablas (if you want it)... interesting stuff.. drank a bottle of the Justin '05 Savant.. but it seemed a little young even after an hour or so... all in all a great trip... 1/2 Dome on Sunday and Justin and Tablas on Wednesday... lots of good grub too...
What is the latest on Sat. vs. Sunday for the Offline??
Might go to Bacchus this Sat for their tasting.

My only concern is if it should fall on Sunday, can we do the early start thing like last time? 5:30am on Monday morning comes way too early after an evening of indulging in the fine wines you guys always bring.

Wimp~!
At your young age and still a little wet behind the ears, I was guessing you were JUST getting home at 5:30 am.
Not me, about 4 years ago I was out with some friends in the Gaslamp and started looking at my watch around 11:30pm. At last call, a little before 2am, I went to the bathroom, came back, and my friend who was driving had a beer in each one of his hands. After that I decided to drive every single time and just meet up. I usually have one or two drinks and I rarely stay out past one and usually return home earlier than that. Now the scoundrels in this wine tasting group are a bad influence on me. But I still return home at a much more civilized hour.
Sorry for the delay - we were out of town and just got back. Since it's a draw, I just flipped a coin and it came up heads (Saturday). Sorry, Wine Joe, but we'll drink a toast to your wine case.
Let's say a 2 pm start if that works for everyone, with the usual snacky stuff to bring to share and soak up the booze. For anyone attending who hasn't been here before (or has forgotten), drop me a line at SD_Wineaux (at) yahoo (dot) com and I'll send you the info.

Hey guys, sounds like Sat. the 18th is the consensus...where again? I'll send you an email SD-Wineaux in the meantime.
Also, just an FYi...the SD Union Tribune is doing an article on my new site (LocalWino.com) in this Sun. (12th) paper in the N. County Q&A section. Look out for it...
I look forward to meeting up with the group on the 18th.

We need to abduct Red Guy and Wine Joe, or at the very very least you guys could call in sick, just giving you guys a hard time. I like it when you show Wine Joe, and Red Guy, I have yet to meet you.
Looking forward to Saturday guys. I am going to stand up my Bandol a few days in advance, and then grab some snacks on the way.
Clayfu, get in touch with SD-Wineaux at that address above.
1 bottle per person, some people bring 2. We often throw around the $40.00 dollar price point. People have brought wines much more valuable and people have brought great bottles that were $27.00.
