Put me down for 2. Our contribution will be a 2004 Mitolo GAM and either a 2004 Grossett Polish Hill Riesling or a 2000 Barossa Valley Estate Ebenezer Shiraz, depending what others are bringing. I suspect there will be no shortage of Shiraz that night.

I assume we will do this blind again?

That's a very kind offer vinaigre, thanks.

It's unlikely that I will be able to attend, but on the off chance, is there likely to be a Marriott or Hilton property near the venue? We're members of both plans and try to stay in one or the other when we travel. We've stayed at the Residence Inn on Peel St. (if not on that street, near it) and at a Courtyard or another Marriott property not so far from that.

If I was to come with my wife, which hotel (as I said above, ideally a Marriott or Hilton) would you recommend? I notice that there are two Residence Inns where we've stayed before that are each about 3 miles away, for about $115++. If you can suggest something nearby and cheaper than those options, please do.

We have a family commitment that weekend that would require us to be back here by midday Saturday in any case.

But the desire to offline with you all is strong......

Bman, I'm betting that Vinaigre can do better than that rate. He got us that rate at the Chateau Laurier for the Ottawa offline. Hope you and M can make it.

Mimik, why are you bringing 4 wines for 2 people? Trying to get us drunk? Smile

I will look into it tuesday....
I would most probably be able to get you a good rate at the Marriott Chateau Champlain.
As I stated above, all of the Marriotts are max 10 minutes from the venue, and I would be able to pick you up on the way, as I work downtown and I literaly pass the hotel on the way to the restaurant.

I have your e-mail, I will keep you informed.

Thanks guys. Cool

If it's possible to do this for a reasonable price, we might be able to join in.

I reduced my total wine. I will bring another personm for the offline as well. Reservations are made.

Bman, I am sure Vinaigre can do much better than those rates.

I am currently in Minneapolis. Picked up a 2004 GAM Mitolo (53.00$US) and an AMON-RA Glaetzer 2004 for a heft 80.00$. Saw Leoville Las Cases 2002 for 124.00US(140.00Can) but I don't know if I'll pick it up.

Sad to say, Mimik et all, but I think we are out. Too many variables are holding us back, and I don't want to make you all wait any more than I already have, especially since our participation looks unlikely in any case. Frown

Thanks for your patience. Smile

Bman,
I did send an e-mail to my contact at the Marriott but have not heard back from him yet, I will still let you know who much $$ so if it helps you change your mind and also as a guide for the next time.

I hope this is only a momentary lapse of reason, otherwise we will have to contact the proper authorities Wink

Thanks vinaigre Smile

I am determined to make it to one of your events ASAP, and thought it would be this one, but there are too many balls in the air at the moment. If anything changes I will let you know.

And I would like to know that Marriott price, because we do like to get to Montreal at least once a year if we can.

Bman,

Finally got an awnser from my guy..
Not many rooms were left, so the offer was $149.00 for a Junior Suite !!

Next time we would have to do this in advance, because for a regular room it would be below $100.00 and I could do better in the lower end Marriotts and other hotels (Fairmount or Delta).

Hope to see you soon at one of our offlines..
At this rate it should be end of May... And I have a craving for lobster ans some Sauvignon Blanc. Razz
