I don't want to jinx it, but someone in my office will be sent to work in London for six weeks this summer and it could be me.

Would KillerB, Birdungy and/or Aussie be in town and up for an offline in July or early August? I might even be able to resurrect Jan Luthman.

Any chance the Dutch masters and others from the continent (hello tsunami!) would be interested in crossing the channel to offline?

I'd be very surprised if an offline could not be arranged during one of your visits, whether I end up in London or not.

Where do you stay when in "the metrop", Thomas? And for how long might you be there?

I'll be around for most of those dates bman, so should be easy to organise an offline. Look forward to meeting you and all the above!!!

If everyone who posted above get together for an offline I think the worlds port supply will be in trouble. Eek

You guys might need two separate days for this offline. One for port and one for the "rest" Big Grin

It's official!! Cool

I'll be in London during the dates mentioned above. As I'll be working, I'd rather offline on the weekend if possible, though a Thursday night would also be possible because it's only a half day on Friday and the work is less complex that day. I'll be in a hotel so cannot host, but there are several possible BYO venues I think.

I wonder how much it would cost to hire Berry Brothers' cellar room for an afternoon or evening..... Wink

So, who's up for a London offline this summer?

Better to just call Berry Brothers, buy a bottle giving them your credit card number, and ask them to decant the port while you are en route, so it is perfect in time for the offline! Big Grin

Berry Bros, he.

I may well be spending a couple of weeks in Dorset, next July.
But don't let that worry you.

Rik: sounds good... Big Grin

I might be jumping the gun a bit, but wouldn't it be a good idea when those interested in coming to this offline post the dates they could make it? The sooner we settle on a date, the lesser the chance ones agenda is already full. Airfare to London is also cheaper the sooner one books in advance (at least that's how it works over here). I'll start:

I can make it any weekend in the period bman posted, but have a *slight* preference for a date between July 23rd and August 7th.

Now, if only we could get Gastro, Phylloxera, Markus Randel, Kicker, Marc and NDD to join us as well...it would make for a historic offline! Cool
