Just a few short years Pinot Noir was an ignored grape variety by much
of the wine drinking public. Yet today wine lovers all over America
clamor for these wines. Why the difference in attitude? As silly as it
sounds, it was the movie, Sideways. Somehow the wine nerd, Miles, star
of the movie, struck a chord with many people and drove them to
reconsider a grape variety that true enthusiasts had known for years
produced wine of richness, complexity and best of all, wines that could
be enjoyed at a young age. The good news was that an increased interest
in Pinot Noir challenged wine producers all over the world to recommit
themselves to the production of this noble wine. The bad news was that
Pinot Noir wines, rarely inexpensive to begin with, sky rocketed in
price with the new demand. We have always loved these wines and are
excited to bring to you fifteen new pinots to taste! They come from far
and wide- Oregon, California, Australia, Chile, New Zealand and, of
