Taxi to Victoria station (the cabbie woke me up to ask me if I wanted to get out) - Waited for the Gatwick Express (missed the first one which said something on the side about the Arab Emirates) - Caught the next one arriving at Gatwick at 1:15am. Stumbled into my room (luckily I had kept the check-in jacket so I could find the right room) around 1:30am - Caught the plane back to the US and slept about 3 hours (felt so much better after the nap).

Ready to do it all again soon.

Sounds like a classic London offline. Cool

Otis: Do you also do the middle-east for your company? If you're ever in the area let us know!

The nose is fine - just a flesh wound.

Thanks to Bobby for arranging this great night and thanks to Otis for putting me up in his hotel room.

I thought that the Palmer/Ornallaia combination was great. The Warre 1977 was excellent and the contrast with the brute that is the Dow 1980 was amusing. The La Tour Blanche at the end was a beauty and made me glad I'd got a case.

Not going to pick a WOTN as so many good ones. Food was great, company great and wines great. Great night out.

What La Tour Blanche? I didn't see any of that (not that I needed it really)...

I am NEVER going to drink again. Except that I don't really mean that and have had a glass or two tonight...

We opened that bottle when all the playboy playmates came to our table. Oh yeah, I think you were gone by then… Wink

Ronnie: KB and I were talking about getting together with you, Lady Roots and Stevie Cage in the NL sometime soon. But I didn't know you were in Oman! Unfortunately, I don't really travel the area (other than the occasional trip to Tel Aviv or Istanbul), but if I do, I'll definitely get in touch with you.

Hope you are doing well and my best to LR. Smile

KB: very glad to hear that the sniffer is still operational. Cool

Cheers,

Otis

Did I suggest that? Did I remember that they were in Oman rather than escapees to Belgium? Normally I say "something beginning with 'O'".

Sniffer's fine and looks almost like new now. Couple more days and nobody will ever know.

We definitely should try to get together sometime in the near future. I realise our location doesn't make it easier, but we do visit the Netherlands once or twice per year.
