Looks like I'll be in Myrtle Beach the weekend of May 16th for a work thing. Anyone in the area interested in an offline? I know I'll have a work dinner one of the nights (likely the Saturday), but that leaves me open for the other two nights - Friday and Sunday.

Can't remember who's in that area or within driving distance though!

Any recommendations for restaurants (preferably BYO) would be appreciated as well. I already checked the threads in Dining and Travel, but they're a couple years old.

Fut, sorry I won't be able to join you but I can offer some restaurant suggestions (we actually have a family home in N. Myrtle Beach so I have been going there my entire life). Some restaurants will let you BYO but you should call and let them know you plan to do so. In MB:

The Aspen Grill (new ownership but has always been good)
The Collector's Cafe
Sea Captain's House (on the Oceanfront around 30th North)
Louis' in Pawley's Island (good low country cuisine - more Charleston like)

In NMB

Joe's Bar & Grill - get the steak au'poivre

In Little River

Chianti South - Tell Arturo you are friend of mine. They actually have a very good Italian list that is reasonably priced but do allow BYO.

I hope the weather is good. Have fun.

If I remember correctly, James Molesworth did a piece on Myrtle Beach sometime in the last year while he was on a golfing trip with his buddies. I don't recall if it was in print or online.

Thanks guys. Too bad you're unable to make the trek, LB. Two wine dinners in as many months would have been fun!

I live about 2.5 hours away in NC The wife and I may not mind making a quick trip to the beach to enjoy some wine. Not sure if 3 people makes much of an offline though. Let me know if you are interested.

Hi Curt,

That sounds good. I'm just not sure what night my work event will be, so I'll have to get that information first. Send me an email at <email removed> and we can start planning/pick a restaurant, etc.
