Apparently there's interesting in putting together an offline in November, so I'm tossing out the following:

-------------

Date: Friday, November 21st, 2008
Time: 7:30pm
Location: Biff's, 4 Front St. E.
Corkage: $25

-------------

7:30pm is easier for people traveling in from out of town, hence the time. If people can't make this date, I'll try to change it, but let's work with this.

Please be firm with your commitments. This event will be in holiday party season and therefore restaurant availability is going to be tough. I'll look at moving the event if Biff's can't accommodate or another option comes up.

Hopefully theweb and Emil can make it out and officially join the TWC. Initiation fees are either a case of Giacosa Barolo (Red Label preferred) or First Growth from a good vintage. Your choice.

Look forward to seeing everyone out!

Roll call:

futronic(1)

Boy, I haven't been to an offline in ages, so I'd love to join. I'll have to check the date and get back to you, futronic. Friday nights are typically tough for me, but I'll see if I can swing it.

I'm on call that day and will be unable to attend. I need to get a simpler job!
Perhaps the Thursday or another day. I could do the Saturday if everyone's OK with that instead. The fish will just have to wait another day to "hook" up with me.
Thanks for picking up the ball on this fut.

I'm in - I'm sure I can convince Mrs Web to join too. I'm really flexible on the date, just let me know.

First Growth? I thought we already did that Fut Wink, although I'll admit not the most memorable first growth.

Is this event still happening?

If you have room for an out-of-towner; I will be in TO that weekend and just might be able to free myself up that evening.

It's you guys or the head office yearly banquet (3000 people, I'm usually stuck at the back, I hate waiting in lines)
Guess which I would rather go to???

Let me know !!

Don't worry man, we'll make something happen. I've been a little busy to get to details, but let's refresh the role call. Also, will Mrs. V be with you as well, or are you flying solo?

Definite:

futronic (1)
Vinaigre (1+?)
on the wine (1)

Tentative:

Emil (1)
aav28 (1)

I was at Biff's a couple of weeks ago. I've never been disappointed by its food & service.

Hi Fut,

Looks like I need to bail - Mrs. Web has a yoga class out of town and I need to stay close to home. Since the TWC anniversary is in January ?, maybe best to get together then

Sorry to hear you won't be able to make it.

As for the anniversary dinner in January, it's way too early to talk about it, but the date is expected to be January 24th.

Great if this works out.

Futronic, I'm finalising my plans now that I know this is still on. I am with one of my employee that will be going to the banquet and just need to make sure she will be ok with going on her own (long story).

Should you feel like putting it to another date, don't feel obliged on my account to keep to the date.

Just thinking, maybe the Dec 6 weekend would work? as I'll be in town for the LCBO auction - maybe other TWC forumites will be as well? We could book the tasting room at the FWR and have the offline there?

Unfortunately that's the only weekend I have between now and Christmas, so if something comes together (things are still up in the air now), it would have to be on the 21st. Even the 22nd doesn't work for me.

Sorry web ...

Just to make sure no one accidentally shows up at the restaurant, unfortunately it looks like the offline isn't going to happen. Schedules simply didn't work out. We'll reschedule for another evening.
