I believe Thirsty is bringing a Stefania wine. Why don't you bring a Bdx, Rhone or Italian. I'm sure whatever you decide to bring it will be good Wink

Krug Clos du Mesnil (vintage?)

1987 Mondavi Reserve Cabernet

What would you like me to bring... Bordeaux, Italian, other?

Has Thirsty Man hinted what he might bring?

This is shaping up VERY nicely. Big Grin

I am bringing a stefania Syrah and was thinking about a 1996 Groth Cab reserve...

Just looked at the menu, and think we need at least one white wine. I will bring one plus TBD.

Bring what you like! I was just thinking we could use a white or two.

Thinking about the WS #1 white wine of the year in 1998... still thinking.

Do Sarah and Sparky make it? Wink

Even if they don't, it will be a treat to sample.

FYI-Unfortunately, I'll have to drive back after supper (almost had had to cancel), so more spitting/sipping, less swallowing. It'll be nice to see everyone.

If Indy is spitting, I'm changing what I'm bringing, and no '86 Krug Clos du Mesnil for Indy.

I'm not kidding!

Well, I should change what I am bringing too. I guess (for Indy's sake) I'll bring a nice diet coke from the July 08 vintage. Should be drinking really nice right now. It won't shut down for another couple of months and damnit, I just prefer drinking these things young. Wink

I am bringing a stefania Syrah and can bring any of the following - depending on what people would prefer:

1. 1996 Groth Cab reserve
2. 2000 Antinori BdM
3. 1999 Chateau Magdelaine (magnum - might be too young)
4. 2004 Clos Apalta (been wanting to try this one but have held off)
5. 2004 C. Hours Jurancon Uroulat (desert wine or a great match with foie gras or pate)
6. 2002 La Confession (parker says it is in its prime....)

Let me know what your thoughts are.

I'll bring along a 2002 Etude Cab and the '87 Mondavi Reserve Cab, plus my fianceé, if that's cool with everyone. What's the total head count? Will we need another sparkler?

Thirstyman, The Apalta is very tasty, haven't had any of the others. Maybe the Confession, as there's no other Bordeaux represented?

Normally I try to wait a little longer on opening Bordeaux (unless I bought a case or more) - I was reminded of these bottles when JJBuckley recently sent out an email about it. They have a good price on it - so it would be nice to open one and see if its worth adding more. It is a cab Franc and Merlot blend.

I'll bring it and the Jurancon (in addition to the Syrah).

G

PS - you're gonna need that hotel room....
