Lafon-
You pose a very interesting query!
R4L- it is your call, shall we do Mersault and Merlot. Of course, WA or WS 94 pts+, or hmmm, I suppose new world Cabernet Sauvignon and old world Sauvignon Blanc with the same rating parameters. What do you think?
Oh, and don't forget the requisite pencils and tasting note writing pads so we all can take detailed notes while listening to strains of Chopin and our CRS favorite, Rachmaninoff.

Don't count your chickens yet...

My schedule got changed again this week, I was suppose to find out what's going on today, but I haven't got the phone call yet...

There is still an outside chance I may join you folks. I really would like to find out my schedule, but it's out of my control...

Alright, well in the spirit of CRS, I'll just put it this way, I'm bringing pinot and so is R4L, and my sense is that PE would be hard pressed NOT to bring pinot.

And finally, we know that Pyang, who "might" be there has not quite developed a full appreciation yet for pinot, but I think we help him get over that.

Lafon,
If pyang does show up, i think we should work on refining his palate, he needs to realize that there is more to wine than the California Fruit Bombs Wink Razz .

Landshark,
Good news indeeed!

Hey, just 'cuz pyang might be there is NO reason to have an all-pinot-Rod-Stewartathon!!! Eek

Count me in for two bottles (depending on number of participants and whether another starter is being brought by someone else) o' NV Roederer Brut, a well decanted '01 Shafer Hillside and a 2002 Peacock (former juice sellers to Barnett) cabernet which was just released.

Yes...a lot of wine...but I think we'll be taking a cab that night! Big Grin

Yo Flubis,

If I were to have an official sitter (cute 22 year old that has watched the kids for 4 years now) at my place, might that make this weekend more do-able?

Now that we've decided that pinot noir will be the varietal, the only question is how many bottles of pinot is each person bringing? Big Grin

Post now. Razz

Yes, it's a four letter word, but then again, Pyang is coming and I thought that pinot noir was his favorite!

Lafon is going to find out that the word "PLAN" does not translate for CRS. That's the thing about L.A.!

True, it's hard enough getting Angelenos to plan for earthquakes, let alone Pinot Noir.

For my part, I hadn't planned on bringing a Pinot, but I'd be willing to arrange a last minute substitution, at the host's insistence of course.

I'm totally used to it! You think it's tough planning something in LA, try planning something in The People's Republic of Berkeley!

Vinyrd Skynyrd,
Feel free to bring whatever you like Smile . Never mind us Pinot/Burgaholics as we see the world through rose colored glasses Wink , after all who can't pass up the opportunity to Razz our friend pyang!

On another note, it looks like we are a confirmed group of 16, possibly 17 if our guest of honor shows up with all of the svd's for us to try Wink .

Yes, bring whatever you'd like. I just thought it would be fun to bring pinot to make our friend Pyang feel at home!

Looking forward to it!

I am sorry to say that I won't be drinking all those lovely Pinot with you folks.

I am flying down to LA later on this evening and I am probably planning on cominng back tomorrow night instead of sticking around for the weekend.

Hope to see you all soon, most of you in Vegas.
