It was nice to see you in Chicago Longboarder and thanks for bringing the Clos des Mouches. Great wine wich will be even better in 7-8 years. All in all, great time last night!

Fun night, thanks to all. Longboarder, great to see you in our fair city of traffic again. The corkage was $20 per bottle. I agree with Otis- $75 per person for that night was well worth it. My WOTN was the 78 Beaucastel. The 89 VT was also very good, as was the Clos des Mouches (great Burg, prob better in 10 years), although I thought that was a bit of an outlier next to the 2 old Rhones. The Mann drank very well, as did that 02 Girardin Santenay. Sadly that was my last bottle of the Girardin (from an original 10). I think OD enjoyed the night. He mentioned in the car home how he thought it was cool that we can all remember the night we drank the so-and-so with whats his name in another city. It's funny how this addiction hobby has brought all us like-minded individuals together from all over the world!
******* Not looking good for next year either.

All the wines were indeed pretty awesome. It was great to drink the 2 Cdp next to each others as while their style were different, you could definitely tell their origins. The VT was probably at its peak. The Mann was a treat, great balance and acidity with a touch of RS. I want to try this Clos des Mouches in 7-10 years. This will be great! The nose was already enticing.
