Otis,

Are you in town on June 10th? I will be in Lisle/Naperville that evening with a car. Let me know if you want to try to get together with a group.

I'd be down if there's a group. Plenty of wine to share.

LB,

Thanks very much for the invite, but I've got a work dinner that evening with my visiting colleague from Australia.

Would have loved to have shared another few botles together, but hopefully we can do so next time. Cool

Cheers,

Otis

No worries. If you talk to Grossie could you ask him to get back to me.

Berno - I am game if you are. Let me know.

Will do. He's coming over today. Our hockey team won our league championship and we're having a victory party. Cool

Cheers,

Otis

I'm not sure of any BYOB's in the area, Portillo's parking lot? Let me know what's up. I'll be available after 6pm.

Big Grin

I guess we'd have more luck downtown. There are quite a few very nice BYO.

Must agree with French16 here- plenty of BYO or corkage restaurants downtown. My availability definitely is different if we're talking Naperville- it's hard to do a 60-80 minute drive each way.

Maybe Vino Me is available? Smile

Otis and Grossie- Congrats on the hockey championship.

Not that anyone asked but I'm not available on the 10th either.

What're you talking about, VM- see above!

Thanks for the congrats. We've been at it a while, always a bridesmaid, finally were able to consumate.

LB- let me know if you're thinking city travel or not. A weeknight in Naperville doesn't work very well for me, and French16 never leaves the city except for overseas destinations or Detroit.

Sorry I have not responded sooner. I have been out of the country. I can come into the city since I have a car. If it means more can join in I am game for anything. Just let me know. And yes, I enjoy Indian food but most of the time I drink Cobra beer with it.

LB-

I made a reservation at Kiki's Bistro downtown for 4 people for next Weds, June 10th, 7pm. So far it's me, you, french16 & mrs French16.

I know about your Italian propensity, but Kiki's is so great, despite it's French food.

Berno- Are you interested? It can easily be changed to 5 people. I can also make it a little later if people need that.

Thanks grossie. Sounds great. What do suggest for a theme? I am not ALL about Italian. I can do most anything except OZ.

I was thinking Oz. Smile

My feeling is lets keep it simple- bring something good. Keep in mind the food is French, and I know I will be eating the escargot followed by the duck confit.

I've got a 2001 Albert Mann Gewurz VV Furstentum that I've been thinking about for a while, or an 01 Mann Hengst Pinot Gris. I was thinking one of those to start the night. After that I'm thinking about an 89 Clerc Milon. We should try not to get too carried away overall- it's a Weds night- i need to go to work the next day & you need to make it back to the burbs. Don't feel pressured to bring anything, and particularly not a red and a white, it'll be too much.

I knew our taste in wine were similar. I am a big fan of Albert Mann. I have the '02 Furstentum and Hengst Pinot Gris.

I will bring something appropriate.
