Please forgive my status incommunicado. I'm still a desktop-only guy. Laptop? Maybe someday. PDA? What's that?

I made numerous phone calls to Laguna-area restaurants on Monday afternoon. Marche Moderne was on my short list of recommendations, so I will be very happy to see you there at 6 PM on Thursday.

W+A, I did not receive a response to my email to you, and do not have your cell phone number. So, if you read this before Thursday, please call me if you would like a ride to or from the restaurant. It would be no trouble at all, and would be my pleasure actually.

As for wine, I will bring something red with some age on it. Cool

Since corkage is $10 per bottle, should I bring an imperial? Big Grin

Great... looks like the details have been worked out. Thanks to everyone!

I'm assuming this place have proper sized stemware, but if not and anyone is bringing stemware, please bring an extra for me.

Gkapoor and Java, you both should now have my cell, and feel free to call anytime. As for a ride, that would be great. I really do not know who it would be easier for. Let's all talk via cell soon.

I never saw a theme, so I grabbed something this morning as I packed. Big Grin

Looking forward to Thursday, and meeting fellow wine enthusiast and WS forum members.

w+a

Got your text GA, thanks. Also, thanks for the stemware if required.

I packed a 1990 red, and a 1999 white. Cool

Waiting to board plane. See everyone one soon.

I recall the restaurant having decent stems, but nothing too fancy.

I'm going to bring a 1990 as well, and a bubbly to kick things off.

Ah, I was just about to ask if anyone was bringing a bubbly. I'll be bringing an older red and...maybe something sweet. Still TBD.

Boy's, we NEED a Champagne! Smile

Champagne does not always travel well, so I did not bring one, but I can always buy one. Wink

Don't you dare buy one. The idea is to diminish the cellar. Gkapoor said he will bring a bubbly. I will bring one too, just to make sure we have enough. W+A, I will call you on Wednesday.

Java, sounds good.

I'm in meetings early today, then playing golf this afternoon. If I miss you, I will call you back this evening.

Whine-oh: The dinner is actually in Costa Mesa, not LA. The drive from SD should not be more then 1.5 hours in traffic. Hopefully, this will sway you decision into joining us Smile

SD-W: My wifey will be joining us as well.

Damn, I just saw this. Looks like a great time, but dinner and wine tasting in Laguna on a week night just isn't in the cards for this boy. Please post notes.

Wine + Art: When you coming down to SD?

----------
"Sometimes when I reflect back on all the wine I drink I feel shame. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the vineyards and all of their hopes and dreams . If I didn't drink this wine, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, 'It is better that I drink this wine and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."

Love the place. It's on our "don't miss" list when we're out there.

Just one more sip.

Whine-oh, just saw this but got your e-mail.

The IT department at work chose this week to start blocking the Wine Spectator site and forums (and CellarTracker). Mad

Let me know the next time you are out here. Winesellar is always a great spot for an off-line.

A really nice low key Pahlmeyer night at The Winsellar... Jayson was there too, a nice and generous host.. Nice BBQ walk around setting with Mr. Parker manning the grill.. I believe they had a more high end gig last eve. at the Brasserie with vintage stuff that sounded yummy.

Pouring this evening:
the 07 Jayson and Pahlmeyer Chards
the 06 Jayson and Pahlmeyer Pinots
the 07 Merlot
the 05 Jayson Red and Pahlmeyer Proprietary Red Blends

Twas a good night indeed..

SD, I will call you on your cell manana to see if I can still hitch a ride on your magic bus with you and the misses.. Work will dictate..

Not sure if my cellar is worthy, but I am searching.. LOL..

cheers

Gkapoor, I did get your voice mail today... thank you!

We decided to play 36 today, and I did not check my cell often. I look forward to meeting you tomorrow night.

Guys, Just give me a heads up if I need to increase the headcount for the reservations. Currently we have 7 people attending, Java, W+A, Gigond, SD +1, and myself +1.

Gkapoor, thank for confirming the reservations.

I left you a voice mail this morning. The weather never hit 80 here yesterday, so 36 holes were in order. Big Grin

See everyone tonight, and needless to say, looking forward to it.
