They're fun. I'll make a new post about it to start a new thread.

So, what's our head count for Thursday in Laguna Beach? W+A, Gigondas, SD-Wineaux, and myself? Anyone else?

Addendum -- the cuisine at Five Feet is "Fusion-Eclectic," not strictly Chinese as stated previously.

Oops, Five Feet only allows one outside bottle of wine per table. I will call them tomorrow and speak with the owner, but we may have to choose a new location.

Wine+art,

Gleen Keeler referred me to the offline event. Let me know if you still have a spot open for Thursday as I would be interested in joining. I live in the OC therefore five feet works. Also, let me know what type of vino are you guys planning on drinking.

Thanks!

Gkapoor would be a great addition to the offline. Just don't believe any of the stories he tells me about Smile

Although the food isn't the greatest ever, we could consider Pinot Provence in Costa Mesa.

No Corkage.

Pinot Provence.

I have no opinion... someone just pick it, and I will be there assuming a taxi can get me there.

If we are going to have a theme, I need to know soon. I'm packing at 5:30 in the morning.

I don't care what the "theme" is. I'm bringing what I want anyway........ Cool

You bring a 100 pointer and I will...... Big Grin

That's the one thing I miss about the old LA offline group. Chaos Reigns Supreme.

If you want something closer to Laguna Beach, we could try Watermarc. I haven't been there but there are some good reports on Chowhound.

Watermarc

$15 corkage and now limit.....

Java, are you there.............?

Stonehill Tavern?

A bit pricey and $25 corkage. Never had a bad meal at a Michael Mina restaurant...

See above post... I'm easy and not worried about price, but know others may care.

Price or location are not an issue for me either.

Wine+art: I have no prob picking you up from your hotel Thursday night. Now droping you back will depend on how much, actually how little, I drink at the OL Smile JK.

In regards to Glenn, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, until I have a bottle of vino, then all bets are off!

For all the locals attending the OL, I would like to recommend Marche Modern in South Coast Plaza. IMHO, the best food being served in the OC right now. The chef/owner use was the exec chef at Pinot Provance few years back. Corkage is $10 per bottle. Hopefully the location is not an issue as I have an offer outstanding to be the chauffeur for our out of town guest. The other recommendation would be Basilic in Balboa. I was a BIG fan of Pinot but their quality has leveled off in the past year.

Marche Modern sounds good to me as well. Also, I'll be +1 (we'll see how my wife enjoys being the only woman there Smile). Oh, and I'm all for chaos...that best matches my cellar.

Gkapoor, I know that Java has been known to drop off the grid for a while sometimes, so would you mind making the arrangements since you seems to know the place?

We appear to be at 6 with danny being a still iffy #7 (a loooong drive and he's still trying to arrange to work out of LA).

Alright Gents (and a lady), We have a reservation for 7 people at 6pm at Marche Moderne in South Coast Plaza. The hostess said that it will be $10 for the first two bottles then $25 for all others. Please let me know if anyone has concerns, changes, etc. Following is the link to the restaurant www.marchemoderne.net.

Wine+art: I will have GlennK email you my cell number.
