We are proud to announce Pinot Days 2007: A Celebration of Pinot Noir from Around the World. Pinot Days 2007 New York will take place on April 28-29 at the Javits Center in New York City. Events officially begin on the 28th, but there are a handful of smaller events preceding the biggies; read on for details.

Pinot Days is designed to allow wine lovers and members of the wine trade to taste a variety of pinots representing every California appellation, Oregon, New Zealand, Australia, New York and Burgundy. This will be New York City’s largest single gathering of pinot producers ever. As Gary Pisoni of the renowned Pisoni Vineyards puts it, "If you love Pinot Noir, and I do, Pinot Days is the place to be."

Pinot Days Grand Tasting
Sunday April 29th, 2007 - $50
Jacob Javits Center – 655 West 34th Street New York, NY

The Pinot Days Grand Tasting will be held on Sunday, April 29th, and will showcase 80 (?) producers of pinot noir. Consumers will be able to sample up to 200 pinots from every important region in California, Oregon, New Zealand, New York and Burgundy, and including many of Wine Spectator’s Top 30 California Pinot Producers. Meet the winemakers, enjoy the countless pinots and sample a variety of artisan cheeses & other specialty foods. The Grand Tasting is from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Tickets are available on our website, www.pinotdays.com, or by calling the Bay Area Wine Project at 415-408-3360. Grand Tasting Tickets are $50.

The Pinot Days Focus Tastings will be held onSaturday at 12, 3:30pm and 7pm. We offer three sit-down tastings: The Best of Anderson Valley, Russian River and Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, the Best of 2005 Oregon Horizontal, and the 2005 Santa Rita Hills and Santa Lucia Highlands Horizontal. These tastings will feature 16 of the best producers’ efforts within each theme. We will drink the wines blind and reveal them after each flight. During the tasting the producers will field questions, discuss their own wines and the uniqueness of the region they are representing, and share their colorful stories about making some of the most exciting pinots on the market today. For specific event details, read on.

The Best of 2005 Oregon Horizontal.
Sunday April 29th, 2007, 12-2pm - $100
Jacob Javits Center – 655 West 34th Street New York, NY

The Best of 2005 Oregon Horizontal. Oregon is a not-so-secret source of pinot noir, producing more traditional, light pinots that recollect their terroir. Talk about hard to find: These wines are nearly impossible to get your hands on. This tasting is your chance to taste some of the best. 2005 Oregon is a return to “normal,” which means more structure and less ripe fruit. After experiencing hot vintages the past few years, this growing season was long and cool. This will be one of the best Oregon tastings we have done. Come taste (name producers here). Tickets are available on our website, www.pinotdays.com. Focus Tasting Tickets are $100.

The Best of Anderson Valley, Russian River and Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Sunday April 29th, 2007, 3:30-5:30pm - $100
Jacob Javits Center – 655 West 34th Street New York, NY

The Best of Anderson Valley, Russian River and Sonoma Coast Pinot will feature 16 of the most acclaimed wines from three prestigious pinot regions in Northern California-Anderson Valley, Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley. Most of the wines we’ll serve are still made in relatively small lots, and thus are difficult to find. Come taste (name producers here). Tickets are available on our website, www.pinotdays.com. Focus Tasting Tickets are $100.

2005 Santa Rita Hills and Santa Lucia Highlands Horizontal.
Sunday April 29th, 2007, 7-9pm - $100
Jacob Javits Center – 655 West 34th Street New York, NY

This focus tasting will feature 16 of the best wines from the Santa Rita Hills and Santa Lucia Highlands Southern/Central California appellations, legendary pinot regions that produce some of the most acclaimed pinots on the market. Santa Rita and Santa Lucia have become a breeding ground for young producers who have paved the way for modern California pinot noirs. We will taste the hard-to-find (name producers here). Tickets are available on our website, www.pinotdays.com, or by calling the Bay Area Wine Project at 415-408-3360. Focus Tasting Tickets are $100.

This was one of the best tasting events in San Francisco last year. I am stoked that I'll be able to hit NYC and San Francisco this year. Sometimes things just work out.
