Oh, one more thing. My ride home yesterday from the Albany airport was in a driving rainstorm, but some how I made it. Razz

I thought you needed one of those two-man railroad hand cars to get into PettiCoat Junction. Big Grin

Hey now, there were proper stems in the room! It's not *my* fault that you chose to drink out of a plastic cup!

As for the spooning, let me state for the record that there was no - I repeat, *no* - spooning in my room. That was apparently something private between KSC and steve8 in their room.

I missed seeing you again as well, KSC02. But apparently you didn't miss a beat with Steve8! Wink

After you had stems sent up to the room I did use one, we started off with what we could find. At that hour, after that much wine, it was getting hard to tell what you were drinking anyway. Let's just say palate fatigue had set in.

Palate fatigue? Clearly you need more practice!

Wow, all this talk of spooning and palate fatigue makes me wish I'd come through for the "after" party. Next time!

I had a pleasant 50 mile drive home that night. Not only did I successfully navigate Indybob to his hotel, I made it the rest of the way without incident. Somehow, my wife managed to chat with Indy the whole way to his hotel. As soon as he got out of the car, she nodded off for the remainder of the ride.

It was great to see all the familiar faces again, and to meet some new ones as well. I'm still salivating when I think of the scallop dish and the tenderloin dish. Excellent food, and excellent wine.

Thank you so much to all for your efforts, especially PH, Een and Otis. It was a night to be remembered.

I'll back that up! TLV was in great shape to drive my sorry, sloshed butt back to my hotel after a great eve. (he's definately a spitter, I swallow).

Thx again, and say hi to Mrs. TLV, I'm terrible with names.

BTW, my WOTNs were the 1997 L'Apparita Castello di Ama, 1997 Castelgiocondo, 1997 Siro Pacenti, or that 1985 Champagne that KSC02 brought (what was that?).

It's really very nice to walk into a room, and see so many old freinds, and make a few new ones as well. I think it's now 5 or 6 years since I first met the Otis's. We really had a great time.

Glad that Indybob is home and safe. I hope we can say the same for everyone else who is away from home some day very soon.

What a great offline. I'll echo Paul's comments about the old and new friends. And so many excellent wines. Thanks to Een, PH, Grossie and Otis for organizing. Campagnola did a great job in hosting us. Food was excellent and the room was perfect for us.

My favourite wines were

1990 Fuligni
1985 Col D'Orcia, Poggio al Vento
2001 Fontodi, Flaccianello della Pieve
1997 Frescobaldi Castelgiocondo Riserva
1998 Scavino, Carobric
1990 Ornellaia
2000 Rocca, Rabaja
1988 Pol Roger, Winston Churchill

And finally a big BITE ME to the smartasses Big Grin

Good to see you again, Indy, and catch up a little. Thanks again for bringing the '97 Siro Pacenti. Splendid.... Cool

I thought all night that Jason Taylor (Miami Dolphins) was dining with us... but sure Indy's palate is much better. Smile

I mostly get that one, especially now. I guess he's on some dance-off thing.

A few years ago I was in Miami for a 'fins/Colts game and got called Taylor constantly in town. Right after the game, I walked up to Taylor on the field and told him I was his long lost twin, minus about 50lbs of muscle. Even though his team was beaten badly, Taylor did a double-take, smiled and agreed wholeheartedly.

Now, if I only had his contract. . .
