I ran out of wrath in 1986. Wink Once all the table massaging is done, will someone please post the seating arrangments? This thread is giving me a minor headache..... I'll get a final headcount to both the restaurant and to Otis for stem rentals on Monday.

Aren't you Mr. Organizer, PH? I think you should do the seating arrangements list and the wine list all in one post. Then maybe add the restaurant name and location/date info.

I thought that was just your gracious sarcasm. You know, welcoming us in, then seating us at another table. Big Grin

We'd be happy to take you up on your offer for seating at table 2. Of course, we'd be happy at any other table as well, so feel free to move us if necessary.

Does anyone at table 2 have any preference or suggestions on the wines I mentioned? It might be nice to compare the '97 Banfi alongside the '99. Let me know.

I'm all orgainzed out this month! In all seriousness though, I'll catch up and do a summary post in a bit. I've been a bit error prone here lately, a sign of my current scatterbrained state......

With just over two weeks to go I think I should start to think of how to get to Evanston and back. I'm pretty sure a cabbie would be willing to drive there. However what are the odds of finding a cab for the ride back? Especially at whatever time this shinding ends. I see that the train stops close to the restaurant, but that's less desirable to me than a car door to door. If anyone else staying downtown has any good ideas, or want to share a cab, let me know.

TLV: Glad you can make it! Cool

VT2IT: there are plenty of cabs in Evanston. Should be no problem.

I am renting 90 stems. Signing the contract today.

Cheers,

Otis

Thanks otis. I am relieved. I was naively assuming that grabbing a cab would not be a big issue. There are several of us downtown; some like me a little farther out (636 S. Michigan). If you made that assumption here in the Dallas area, you could find yourself thumbing a ride.

If you lived in a real city, you wouldn't have that problem.

Razz

*zing*

But in all seriousness, most people are staying downtown, so co-ordinating cabs if you meet up at someone's hotel shouldn't be a problem.

ok, bottle # 2, could do:

Anitori Pain delle Vigne 1999, 2001
Avignonesi Deiderio (The bull wine) 2001,2003
Flaccianello della Pieve 2001
Tenuta il Poggione BDM 2001

Preferences from anyone?

If I was a total score whore I'd say the Flaccianello. Smile The most ready to drink is probably the 2001 Desiderio. We should also consider flights. Already have three Bdm's, and two Valpolicelli. I may also bring a Barolo, if French16 is still bringing one we will need something to pair with it. The Desiderio could be a good test against the Valpolicelli. If he's bringing another Sangiovese, then the Flaccianello would be the best option.

One table has the 97 P.d.V as well, so I thought we might do a little trading for a vertical.

If you can get PH to relinquish his Pian delle Vigne more power to you.
