As next year is a significant Birthday for KSCbabe, AND she already was wanting a trip to Italy for her gift, she's FIRED UP to do a 2 country wine fest. Smile

Just realizing that it's been 5 years since I've spent time in Europe. I'm WAY overdue! I'm really geeked about this idea. Cool

Is it just me or has this thread gone off on a tangent? If this is so, and we're talking about an offline in Italy, count me in for 2.
This is one I'm sure I can talk Mrs.DP into.

Another welcome addition to this adventure!! Cool

As this idea actually is taking a life of its' own, we probably should move it to its' own thread. Our ORIGINAL and PRESENT direction is indeed Chicago in April. Wink

We assumed you'd be an 'IN'. We've started a seperate thread for this finally, so this one can stay on track. Wink

That will fill up the "Nebbiolo Villa" that sits between the Tignanello and Solaia vineyards. Big Grin

We could do the off-line over the hill at the Osteria di Passignano. Since everyone won't fit into the Nebbiolo villa we could take over Aglianico, Malvasia and Sangiovese. I don't mind going up the hill.

For posterity, here's the link.

Enjoyable blog (you lucky dog). Wink

A 97 rating it was. Looking forward to tasting it again.

KSCO2 - Giacomo also opened a bottle of the 1990 normale which was a real treat. I gave that wine a 98. You're right, I am a lucky dog. I would rather be lucky than good.

Bringing this thread back to this year....

In a funny small-world story, Otis and I will be playing hockey tonight with the owner of Campagnola. I knew this guy owned a restaurant, I never put it together that it's this place.

Een- How well do you know him? Should I mention you tonight (it would be in the very unseemly setting of a hockey locker room). Does he personally know about this group?

Grossie- We are friendly regulars in his restaurant. We do have friendships with some of the people on his staff but he is always very good to us.

He does not know about this group. I did shoot him a quick email to remind him about the menu and told him that we had a hockey connection and gave him your first names. I hope that was not untoward of me.

Alas, we lost tonight. It was a good game, but we couldn't pull it out. I will see our man again on Tuesday, this time we play against him. We talked about the big night, and I made sure that he knows to join us for as much time (and wine) as possible.
