Here are the final details for the next East Bay offline. We've decided to go casual and meet up at a burger joint with some good wine and the great company the East Bay offliners always seem to provide.

The offline will take place at The Counter in Walnut Creek here on Wednesday March 25th at 7pm.

These are the confirmed offliners with semi-confirmed guests

tanglenet 2
tpb 1
lizardking 2
keytohwy 1-2
winetarelli 1
juicy 1
Eric White 1-2

The Counter doesn't take reservations so if more East Bay folks would like to come out, let us know and we might have to change the venue to accomodate a larger group. Which, I am sure, won't be a problem. The more wine the merrier; oh and people too!

The theme Cab/Cab blends from anywhere.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again and some for the first time.

We'll be bringing a '99 Mondavi Reserve and possibly something else, just haven't decided exactly what.

I will probably bring:

2003 Harlan Estate The Maiden
2003 Robert Foley Claret

I'm hoping that these will be entering their drinking windows.

Sounds good guys, looks like we're settling in at around ten people.

I just talked to The Counter and they are willing to work with us a bit in securing a proper seating area as much as they can. Once again, their corkage is $10/bottle and the only room they can give on that is if we buy a bottle of their list they'll waive corkage on a 1-1 basis, but I doubt that will apply.

For those coming on Bart, The Counter is slightly less than 1/4 mile walk south on California St. If anyone wants to be picked up let us know and we can meet a few people at bart, however our car can only fit 2, maybe 3.

Also, it might be a good idea to bring stemware. They said they do have stemware but they are pretty limited. And they will be able to provide some buckets.

One more thing, they aren't able to split up the check so please bring cash! The best they can do is to split it in two.

If that's it, we'll be seeing you all on Weds!!
If not, please ask.

tpb and / or winetarelli -

Are you interested in carpooling from Rockridge? We could meet at the BART station and take one car.

I was planning on taking the BART and walking, but if it makes sense to be picked up somewhere, I can do that, too. I also don't exactly know where Rockridge is. Thanks for the offer!

tpb and winetarelli -

Rockridge is on the Pittsburg / Bay Point line, which you will take to the Walnut Creek station. The Rockridge station is the stop, bay side of the Oakland hills and before Orinda which is on the other side of the hills.

If you prefer, you could get off at the Rockridge station and we could all drive to Walnut Creek together.

Here's a map of the BART stations.

Can't wait to participate in my first offline!

If anyone needs a ride from BART, let me know.

What about decanters? Should we have a couple on hand?

keytohwy - I don't think we need decanters although it might be a good idea to decant for a hour and re-cork and bring to restaurant if you have time.

I just realized that the Maiden that I was going to bring is at my offsite storage. Unfortunately I won't be able to retrieve it in time. I will bring an 03 Bressler or 03 Cliff Lede instead.

tanglenet,
Thanks for the offer, but since I'm already on BART, it's not a big deal to ride out to Walnut Creek. I'll meet you there. Looking forward to catching up.

Ditto this.

Also, it looks like I am in for 2. Hope that is not a problem! I'll know for sure by 3pm.

Picked out the wines just now too:

2002 Drinkward Peschon
2005 Realm Beckstoffer Dr. Crane

I'm assuming we should bring our own stems, no?

Eric, I don't think it is necessary as they do have some stems, but I know nothing of the quality, size, etc.

We are bringing our own stems, if we had extras we would bring 'em, however we don't so we can't.
