Looks like I will be in Van next week on business. Dates/times aren't finalized yet, but it looks like I will be in town one or both of those nights. Any of the locals interested in getting together to share some wine?

Unfortunately it's not in the cards for me Steve8.

It is about a 5 hour trip (driving and ferry boat) for me...and it's mid-week.
Anything in Vancouver is 2 days off and an over-nighter for me.

Would have been nice to hook up...sorry.
Frown

Have fun in Vancouver.
Cool Smile

Canadian weather?
Nine months of hockey and three months of bad ice.

Tyee, I suspected that a weeknight off-line wouldn't be good for you. They need to build a bridge between the Island and the mainland. Big Grin Hopefully next trip I can take some time and cross the Strait to share a bottle or two.

And hopefully Seaquam and Dixie will see this.

Take advantage of this opportunity guys. He's great company. I'd drink anything, heck, even Italian cheapies, with this one. And, he's kind to strangers. Willingly gives directions... Wink Smile

Steve, send me an email-- seaquam99 at hotmail (dot com, of course).

I'm horrified that you would even think to come to Vancouver early in the week, but we will see what we can do. Can I assume that your lovely spouse is not joining you?

Seaq, check your mail. And you are correct that J will not be with me on this quick trip.

Skosh, I see you also noticed that pretentious Italian cheapie remark. Roll Eyes

Don't want to infringe on your night, but would love to meet up as well. I won't be offended if not. Smile

Excellent dinner last night with Mr. and Mrs. Seaquam and Dixie. Great to meet the latter and see the formers again. Thanks for taking the time to get together and share some wine. Seaquam, what was the name of that pinot again? Bad memory. Frown

Wines last night were
- 2000 Albert Mann Gewurtztraminer Furstentum
- 2002 William Fevre Chablis Bougros
- 2002 Lemelson Pinot Noir Stermer
- 2000 Chateau Bouscasse Madiran Vielles Vignes

I scribbled a couple of comments before I went to bed, but I couldn't read them this morning. I'll try again later.

It was great to see you again and meet the charming Dixie. A most enjoyable evening.

(Should we post about that incredibly embarrassing incident last night, or did we agree to keep completely quiet about it?)

Thanks again to Mr. and Mrs. Seaquam and Steve8 for letting me join their evening. I had a wonderful time. Food and wine were both outstanding, as was the company. And, whichever of you posts the notes, don't forget the "hockey rink".
