Who said we would be finished by then? Big Grin

Seriously though, both 9 and 10 are free in my agenda…I would be more than willing to host an offline, with you as Guest of Honour! If you want to continue this conversation privately; you know how reach me by email. Other posters game for another offline?

9 and 10 april are free, and I am more than happy to keep them free for what seems like a great offline! Big Grin

KillerB: is there anything we can do to persuade LadyK to join you? A nice bottle of port perhaps? Wink

If a wave that big is scheduled to hit Amsterdam on 8-9 April, I may just have to find some time to ride it Cool In other words, sounds good to me!

9 and 10 (let's have an OL on both dates??) are good for me. Big GrinDo we stick to ports only or shall we have a 'sticky OL' and bring in a lot of port as well? (as we always do)

I'm looking forward to it.

Joe, I understood we convinced you last time with our Fonseca 77 that you like port nowadays?

one full day of decanting time was enough for the Fonseca Cool

You are most welcome to stay at our place. It is small, we don't have extra bedrooms, but there are comfortable matrasses... We could also arrange the offline at our place (if that is not too much hassle for the Amsterdam crew; travelling to Utrecht twice in a short time span)

Stickies and port sound perfect to me! We'll have to think of something special to open then, hhmmm nice.... Big Grin Roll Eyes Big Grin

Any "food" input is of course welcome, but don't feel obliged!

Sounds like a great deal of fun already! Big Grin

tsunami, it's your call: my place is available as well, and I'd be happy to offer a comfortable / horrible (depending who you ask, ehm Ronnie? Roll Eyes Razz) sleeping couch for you and tsunamine. Utrecht day one, Amsterdam day two? Big Grin
Oh, and I do think one or two dry wines wouldn't be too offensive...
It's going to be a NICE couple of weekends!

So it looks like we're on for 9-10 April!

I should be able to make one day, probably not both though if there are two OL's that weekend. Stickies/Port sounds good Smile

LadyRoots: Yep, that '77 Fonseca was great and the best port I've had to date. The '70 Dows was also very fine! You've all managed to set my standards for Port at a high level!

From experience, I would only recommend stevies sleeping couch if you drink 5 bottles of wine each Red Face Eek (but that should not be a problem)

I love this feature that allows me to find all messages that mention my name.....

Yes, let Tsunami coook for you if he is willing! His port knowledge and experience is matched only by his cooking. Ask him if he's willing to cook milk-goat again - first and last time I've had it, it was great, but of course it would be difficult to find here I expect. Maybe I should try....

Let me warn you though that you may be in for a late night/early breakfast the next day - when I offlined with Tsunami and his crew I left for the hotel at 5:30 am!! Plan nothing for the next day!

tsunami: I'm open for everything, but I'm not that keen on kidneys, liver, brain, sweetbreads and the like. My soft spot is cheese...mmmmm, cheese!...

What do you think; should we try to have some nice food / wine combinations? Should you reveil the menu in advance, we could anticipate with the appropriate wines...otherwise, we could give you a list of wines to match. Your call!

ok steve,

no:
kidneys, liver, brain, sweetbreads and the like.

you don't like goose-liver?

i also like cheese

for the food/wine combo's
i do like wine by it self and drink water with food, but that's no problem! i do adapt to the group.

it would be the best, we decide for a menu and serve the wines blind,
people should tell how they think how good the wine is bevor the name is sayed.
who like it could also give a shoot.

Ok, I'm trying to sort this all out:

There will be two OL's while Tsunami is around.

One OL in Utrecht and the other in Amsterdam.

One OL featuring Ports and stickies, the other with a meal prepared by Tsunami with wines to match?

Any idea of how the featured nights will be sorted (what day will have what feature/theme)?

Chances are I can only make one of the two OL's, although I don't know which one I can miss Confused

As far as food preferences, I'm the same as Stevie with regard to likes/dislikes (but like fois gras)! Cheese is a must for both OL's!

Should be fun planning and weekend!

Before we get too far into the Tsunami featured weekend, do we have everything organized for this coming Friday's "Italian" OL featuring Ronnie Roots TAA selection?

What time will we start? What should we bring for food? Everyone have their wine picked? I suppose we should get this sorted out via email.

Perhaps the best way for you and your liver to survive an offline with Tsunami is to do what I did - wake up from 4 hours of jetlag-induced sleep at 5pm, eat stale day-old Canadian (yes, Tim Hortons - for the cognescenti! Roll Eyes) donuts for breakfast, then begin the festivites about 8pm.

It worked for me! Big Grin

Whatever you do, it will be a wonderful experience as Tsunami and Andrea are great drinking/eating companions - and in 4 (or more) languages!

I only wish they could somehow pass through Ottawa on their NOrth American visit this summer... Frown
