Great! You know that we couldn't have an offline without you!

So far:
Sandy +1
Thirsty +1
Winetech
+1 local friend (?)

I've been thinking about going to F Scott's if they can handle us. I'll give them a call and see what they say. Here's the link to their current menu.

F Scott's

With this menu, I'm thinking France/Italy for a theme. What do you think?

To get us started, any of these catch your eye.

1990 Leoville Barton
1982 Luciano Sandrone Barolo
2004 Tasca D'Almerita Contea di Sclafani Rosso del Conte

To keep up our Rhone Blanc tradition:
2006 Domaine Philippe & Vincent Jaboulet Hermitage Blanc
2006 /2007 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc La Crau

Also, if you want to do some infanticide for reference points, we could crack

2006 Bernard Burgaud Côte-Rôtie
2005 E. Guigal Côte-Rôtie Château d'Ampuis

A couple others I'm thinking about as well.

Hopefully Latour and some of the Memphis crowd can make it in. Is that too close to Christmas for Italian Wino out of Louisville?

Winetech; Wouldn't say I'm featured! but will certainly be there drinking! Razz

If I can get up to cinci prior to the offline - i can bring 98 Clos de papes or 01 pegau if you wanted CdP (or a few 07s if you want to try something crazy young).

For northern rhones- I have the 89 La Chapelle

for bordeaux - i have a bunch that are drinking nice 89 LLC, 86 Talbot, 90 laGrange, etc. Take a look at my Cellartracker (thirstyman) and see if anything jumps out at you.

I can't really help with a burg - unless you want a white burg. None of my reds are ready to drink....

Italians.... I'm a little light - most are too young.

Look around and let me know what you think.

I do have a 3l of a village burg from 1990 if we have enough people. No guarantee how its going to taste- zero TNs that I can find anywhere.

I second Sandy on this. Any of you available to join us?

You're right. That does sort of sound like you'll be one of the courses. Big Grin How about featured guest instead!

Give me some direction on either French or Italian and I can throw you some wine options. I can go with the flow, or just hang out in thirsty man's cellar. Big Grin

bad news - they installed the lock today....

If you want I can bring the 90 Lagrange and depending on what we decide on an 89 la chapelle....

I also have a few 82 bdx left if you want to try one of those. The mags are still good, but the 750s are at the end of the plateau before they fall off....

the CdPs are still there as well. Take a peek at cellar tracker and make a suggestion - my cellar is open.

I'll throw in some white burgs. They're 05's, not so old, but I think you'll find both very tasty:

2005 Domaine Marc Morey & Fils
Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles
Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Vergers

Both wines are 13.5% alcohol and the vineyards are actually pretty close, but it's an interesting look at Chassagne and Puligny side by side or one after the other depending on what the chef/somm wants to do.

Right now I'm planning on bringing one bottle of each, but if the number of atendees increase I can bounce that up. Let me know what you think.

That sounds like fun Sandy - white burgs are something that I am reluctantly getting into. I love them, but they are expensive and hard to track down in Nashvegas - Hoyt is about the only retailer that carries any number of white burgs....

I'm with Thirsty. The White Burg's sound great. Right now, we're at 6, so one bottle of each would definitely work.

Here's what we have so far:
Champagne: Still to be named
2005 Domaine Marc Morey & Fils
Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles
Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Vergers
90 Lagrange
90 Leoville Barton
Sticky: still to be named

Do you want to do white Rhone's as well as the white Burgundy, or just stay with the Burgundy?

Thirsty, I keep going back and forth on the la chapelle vs one of the CDPs. This second, I'm leaning towards the la chapelle, only because it will save you a trip to Cincy (and I love the wine Big Grin). I'll bring one of the ampuis for a reference point before I bury the rest. We could pair it with the la chapelle.

Sandy, do you have a preference?

Sandy, LOL!

Ok, you twisted my arm. How about that Clos de papes? You want to bring that in place of the Lagrange? I'll still bring the Leoville Barton, so we'll still have a Bordeaux and we can match up the Ampuis with the la chapelle.

Here's what we have so far:
Champagne: Delamotte NV Brut, magnum
White Burg: 2005 Domaine Marc Morey & Fils
Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Pucelles
Chassagne-Montrachet1er Cru Les
Vergers
Bordeaux: 90 Leoville Barton,90 Lagrange(?)
Southern Rhone:98 Clos de papes(?)
Northern Rhone:89 La Chapelle,2005 Guigal Ampuis
Sticky: 2003 Chateau de Myrat

This looks really good to me. I think that we may be very close. What do think?

I think that we're still good for additional folks. Don't have a cutoff date yet. How many are we looking at and when do you think they will know for sure?

actually, the wife and I are thinking about nashville and memphis.

And we're trying to decide which one to goto first.

Mind putting us down for tentative?

If I make it, thirsty dude, text me your address so I can ship some port over.

Your sticky collection is a bit lacking...

unless you guys really are sticking to french wines =)

G-man, that would be great if you could make it. You're down for a tentative 2. We've still got time before we have to finalize the headcount. Oh, and we always make exceptions for port Big Grin You can e-mail me at vlb95 at tds dot net.

Sandy, that works as well.

Current headcount:
Sandy +1
Thirsty +1
Winetech
Hoyt

Tentative:
g-man +1
Sandy's friends +2
