Looking forward to the date. Thanks again Otis!

I haven't done any of the leg work yet, but I will as the time gets closer. I'll be out of the country the week before the party, so I'll need to firm it up before I leave.

I'll start a new thread about the carpool/bus, at which time people can chime in.

Grossie, I am sure the Marriott could help arrange the bus. It might not be the absolute cheapest option but it would be alot less work for all involved. Let me know if you want me to get in contact with them.

Not to speak for grossie, but the short-bus he arranged last time was hilarious, and I'm sure he's still got the contact. Just watch your stems on the ride home! Glad I missed the second half.

Holy moly! This is one serious offline. I just saw this. I haven't been participating much in the "off-line" scene, but this is one I can't wait to hear about or try to "wait list" for. Go Otis!

Otis has been throwing this every two years for how long now?

It's pretty much achieved 'tradition' status. Cool

I'll have some notarized adoption papers for you to sign when you arrive.

Otis,
My parents just invited me to join them on a cruise to the Baltics and I will have to miss your party! I really wanted to be there. I hope we don't have to wait two more years to have a get together in Chicago
Bondgirl
P.S. I now have a residence downtown so I am in the city about once a month.

Bond Girl,

Too bad you will not be there. I wanted to introduce you to my wife. Hope all is well with you.

Thanks Kevin. I've got a couple of things in the next 2 weeks, after which I should be able to start the groundwork here. I'll let everyone know what's up. I should be ok once it's planned, but if I need a hand I'll let you know.

Otis, could you add another couple to the waiting list for me? One of them will be familiar to those who have offlined in Windsor, though he doesn't know yet for certain whether or not he and his wife will be able to attend.

Is anyone interested in going to the Cubs-Mets game on Friday afternoon? I have never been to Wrigley Field, and this seems like the ideal opportunity to finally go.

BondGirl: sorry you can't make it, but have fun on your cruise! Give me shout if you ever want to open a couple bottles when you are in Chicago. We'll be going to the WS Wine Experience in NYC this October, too, in case you'll be there.

X-ray: moved you to the main list. Looking forward to meeting you.

Breaking News: Vino Me has graciously volunteered to set up a small Oktoberfest canopy in the backyard featuring some German wines that he wants to thin out of his cellar. Very cool! Cool

Gigabit: I'm going to the Cubs game on Friday 8/28 with some visiting friends from D.C. If you decide to go, email me your cell phone number and maybe we can meet for a beer before or after the game.

Maybe he could do a tutored tasting for those of us who know little about German wines except that we like them. I suggest that it start at 5pm.....

One final note, VinoMe, I look forward to the GDR tasting. I have really enjoyed almost every German white I have tasted and see this as a chance to learn a little bit about the wines of that region.

I think San Francisco would be a great place for a Burgundy Offline, just a thought...
