I think you have 'fear' and 'good sense' confused.

Hah! If you out of towners had any sense you would know that the grease from the burger soaks up all the alcohol and prevents hangovers.

I hear Hot Dougs does that as well.

Hot Dougs is great but not open on Sundays. Expect a two hour wait outside on Saturdays.

We both know that the wait is completely worth it. Especially when snack cakes are served as appetizers.

Yes. Definitely. However I think deeply hungover people would not fare as well. I fear we'll get a sudden heatwave and they'd just wilt out there.

Sorry you can't make it, Mark. Hopefully, we'll have chance to hoist a glass or two somewhere down the road.

Cheers,

Otis

Cheers all.....

DRAB,
So sad to hear you'll be missing this. I, for one, was really looking forward to meeting you as well as all the posters I haven't had the pleasure of hoisting a glass with.
Hopefully for CDP VI

Still playing both at your age is impressive! Razz

Gang, I have to drop out. Thank you again for the invite Otis. I'm bummed as you can imagine, but some things have come to light that have made it difficult for me to attend. Was looking forward to seeing everyone, talking politics with Chilepepper, the OC with Berno, wrestling KSCO2 away from the Siro Pacenti, and crowbarring Tlily away from my wife, Wink.

Have fun, be safe, and I'll see you down the road.

Nothing unusual here Gigabit - just the normal cancellations - happens every time.

Indybob-Disappointed that I won't get to see you and your bride. I really enjoyed the Italian offline in Chicage last year.
Maybe sometime in Toronto?

Booo. You and your bride will be missed Indy, but I will try to drink your share. Smile
(Unless, of course, you are playing a VM prank).
If not, come East sometime. I'm sure we can round-up up the troops for an offline. I'd love to be at the first meeting between you and certain NYC forumite. Big Grin

Nah, no prank, just bad timing. Thx for the well wishes, more White Castles for everybody else, Wink.

I actually do have one lonely bottle of '97 Siro Pacenti in off-site storage. Saturday night may be a good time to crack it open. . .

I hope all is well. I hear the '97 is drinking quite well now, but it comes with mandatory drinking notes. Wink

Don't soft peddle it JC. Everyone knows that there were no cancellations until a certain someone, and their air guitar antics, confirmed that they were going to be in Chicago.

You have to expect a substantial number of dropouts; the greater travel distance increases the percentage of dropouts. I've seen this repeatedly. A lot of people jump in and take up spaces even though they know there's little chance they'll be there. Then there are those who legitimately thought they'd attend and had something come up to ruin their plans.

Just one more sip.
