Playing on three hockey teams but staying on too many mailing lists has diminished my consumption rate and has me tripping over cases in my wine cellar again. That can only mean one thing. Time for a CDP. Cool The date is Saturday, August 29th at 7:00 pm at the newly remodeled casa.

This will be the 5th go-round for this wine rodeo. I'll probably open around 100+ bottles again and hope to party with some wine friends I haven't seen in a long while, and perhaps meet a few new ones along the way.

A general descriptor of this fest is "a keg party with wine instead of beer". It's more about socializing and having a good time than popping trophy wines and taking notes.

The wino guest allocation number has been set (as always) by Mrs O at 75 people. In addition, my hockey team and assorted neighbors and friends will also be there. The house should be rockin'.

There are some Chicago Wine Mafia and other board members that have already expressed interest, so I'll include them on the first pass at the guest list. Just LMK if your name is on here by mistake or you can't make it. Otherwise, post your interest in attending. We'll start a waiting list once we hit 75.

GUEST LIST

Grossie (2)
Vino Me (2)

Looking forward to ripping the knobs off again! Big Grin

Cheers,

Otis

MLV and I are in again for our second CDP - will likely be staying with neighbors of yours (5 minutes away) who would also want to come if it would be ok with you. If so, mark us down for 4 please.

Otis, while in town, we'll be staying with D's cousin & husband (fun loving winos as well from Lemont).
IF there is room, I know they'd love to attend. However, this is entirely up to your discretion so as to allow fellow forumites the opportunity to attend.

Your call if it's KSC02 (4) or (2). It's all good either way.

Otis,

I need to be back in the Midwest sometime this year. I have no idea if it will be at the end of August, but I'd be honored to be put on the tentative list or waiting list. It's about time I met some faces behind the names.

Looks like we will be seeing some familiar faces that we haven't had the chance to raise a glss with in a while... obviously we are looking forward to it as JC was quick to respond!

Just last week our friend in Chicago asked when we are coming back. I told him I had no idea. Now I do.

You missed DoktaP (2), otis! Also, I can't believe Mrs. O is allowing this again. Are you still finding Canadian flags in the cellar?

Thanks, fut. Corrected to add DoktaP (and yourself)!

I think I still have a lone maple leaf flag in my cellar. It makes me smile when it falls out from behind a bottle. Big Grin

Cheers,

Otis

I haven't talked to the wife yet, but if there is room, please put us down for a tentative 2.

Also, which is the best airport to come in on: O'Hare or Midway?

TIA

I am sure that one of the Chicago posters will know better than I, but if I recall from the last time, O'Hare is considerable closer to Otis' than Midway

Otis-

Was on the phone with w+a while he was enroute to a meeting. He mentioned that his lovely bride will likely want to come with him to Chicago and is requesting one more be added for him, if possible.
