Do we have a theme for the night? I need a good excuse to go shopping.

PH,

I agree! Let's pull the trigger. I'll see what I can do about adding to our headcount. Wink

Trigger pulled. We are confirmed at ____ for Saturday, March 29 @ 7:30.

Corkage will be $15 per bottle.

Last but not least, we will need to get our wines together and to the venue BEFORE the event. Is there a Baltimore area forumite who can act as mule?

I know we are a very laid back and lackadaisical bunch, but given this extra twist we should declare and work on logistics sooner than later.

All,

I offer my services as the mule. I am willing to store all bottles in my cellar and mule them to the restaurant prior to March 29. I do, however, ask that you get them to me. Special arrangements can be made for a mutually convenient meeting place, but I'm not going to have the time to drive to everyone's doorstep. Let me know if this works for ya'll.

Thanks for the offer, cometspider. For anyone for whom it may be more convenient to drop with me, I'll gladly convey your stuff to the cometspiders' lair.

I can mule as well, and since I travel between Alexandria and Havre de Grace each day I am sure I pass more than a bottle or two.

I am also going to be hitting Schneiders some time next week if you need a mule from there.

Habu - I'd like to take you up on the mule offer from Alexandria if I can confirm my attendance tomorrow, which I expect. That would be excellent.

Habu,

I'd like to take you up on your offer as well. Looks like I missed you today, but I am in NOVA a lot and once PH gets the menu I will likely settle on a wine, although I am pretty certain I already have it picked out.

I'll e-mail you and we' ll work, out logistics.

Thanks

Will have a proposed menu from ____ in the next day or so. I've asked them to lean heavily toward a red wine friendly assortment of smaller portions. Perhaps something lighter to start that would be white/bubbly friendly.

I'll go ahead and be the first to declare. I'll bring a 2001 Cims de Porrera "CLASSIC."

Habu, shoot me your e-mail address if you have a moment. I think you might be the only person I know with a nuttier commute than I have! Wink

I would like to possibly get in on the "mule train" from Alexandria or DC as well. So if there are some logistics being planned on passing off wines to Habu (or whoever) for them to take with them - I'm all for it.

As for the wine............I don't have any Spanish Frown, so I need to get to the store.

Let us know how/when you'd like to load the mule-train, Habu.

I wish we could make this one guys, but just impossible with our Attorney's wedding that night.

Start thinking about April! We've got the 5th and 12th wide open at this point. Make the oregon theme happen! Big Grin Of course, I probably shouldn't speak so soon until I start my new job on Monday, but I don't foresee any weekend work coming anytime soon!

I think the Stefania's need to come back to town in April as well! Not likely with mailer season coming for them, but it's a nice thought!

You're missing this offline because of an attorney's wedding? Good God man, get your priorities straight!! Razz

Several of us are headed to Chicago in late April, so I'm thinking if we do anything locally in April it'll need to be earlier in the month. As far as Oregon is concerned, there's a rumor that a certian Oregon winemaker may be coming East in the next month or two. Offlining with BHVineyard is always a great time.

I look forward to a tasting note on this wine. The Ste. Anne NV Cuvee released last year is very nice.

Looks like a few more Champagnes are in order also. Wink

When are you guys going to Chicago and for what? That's my old stompin' ground as I spent my first 28 years there, but Pam's birthday is in April so it's probably not doable. Depending on the dates though, if it's after, that might be a good opportunity for us to go visit my family for the weekend.

Shoot for the 5th! It's early in the month! Big Grin

Schwooo, I miss checking the boards for a couple of days and have some catching up to do.

For those who are using my mule services contact me: hazmathmy at aol com

I think most have their bottles but the mule train will make a stop at Schneiders on Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

PH - can you send me the details as to when/where I should be making the drop?

Chris
