Thanks for the warm welcome back.

It's been a long (strange) year that has afforded great luxuries, but not without great BIG headaches, so...I'm reallllllly looking forward to the event!

It will be nice to see the regulars, as well as meet the newest members.

And since _al can't make it, maybe another '95 Alzero is in order! Wink

I'll take one for the group and force myself to have _al's share of the Alzero.
Glad to welcome you back. See you Friday!

_al, glad to see you still have a sense of humor. How's this for serious though: if she makes the Royal, we uncork one!

As for what I'm really bringing, I'm waiting on word from futronic as to his impression on the '99 Soldera BdM Riserva Case Basse that I ordered, but did not receive in time for a previous offline.

Starv100- at the present time, there is an offline planned for Saturday October 22nd. You've been added to the list.
With all the guests we've been having, I've been very disshevelled, hence some confusion about venues etc...
Please check the HDW is Toronto bound thread.

Are we to bring our own stemware/decanters or will the venue provide?

I haven't decided yet. It looks like an interesting line-up. I'll check my cellar and try to post later.

DoktaP, why don't you bring that Jeroboam (6L) of Mouton Cadet. I know you wanted to keep it for a special occasion, but what the heck! Big Grin Razz
I think the crowd is worthy of that. Confused Big Grin

Although I can't remember what vintage date it was?
Was it a Tuesday or Wednesday?? Wink Razz

Basecadet, wur you wanna go? LCBO? There is one on McCowan north of Hwy 7 on the east side by Loblaws, or there is one on Hwy 7 East of Woodbine on the south side. If you wanna go either one, I can pick you up at around 6:45pm or so. Let me know. Big Grin

I'm not yet sure whether MrsWGIT will be able to attend this evening's soiree.

I have had numerous conversations with people 'in the know' regarding the Soldera, including the distributor. The consensus is that it's way too young. I did buy an extra one with the intention of sharing it with the 'Unionville Wine Cru', but you'll have to wait awhile longer, I'm afraid.

In place of the Soldera, I am bringing a 1999 Romano Dal Forno Valpolicella Superiore. Wine roll-call please - I can bring something else if we happen to be short of wine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit begins here...

I hadn't realized futronics TN states this wine should age longer as well, so...

I am bringing a 1999 Alkoomi Blackbutt and a 1998 La Fiorita BdM. I think we still need a roll-call though.
