Fut, I never thought I'd see a post where you were so ambivalent about anything related to food or wine. What was that all about?
Presently, it looks like it's 3-2 for Splat with others to chime in.
Drth, where have you been man? No posts on offlines. No appearances in ages. What gives?

I'm starting to see the writing on the wall. Frown

I'm still in, but can we at least agree that if we do Splat this time then we can shoot for a downtown location later in the Fall?

Slan/drth - I'd be happy to split a cab back into the city after dinner.

I'd be in for a split on a cab back to the city afterwards.

Arrrggghhhh, it appears the people from the great white north (York region) will prevail. But I agree 100% with Slan and the rest, that the next offline be downtown (not beautiful downtown Unionville).
Now that we have a venue, any themes? Anything goes? Italian, Oz, French, Cali? PLMK.
Any special requests for Todd? Venison? Boar?
I'll let Drth/Slan/Base/fut sort out the cab rides. I'll ensure that the Carriedca's and I make it. Baird, I suggest you do not travel with any stems out in the open. Could be hazardous to your health (or the health of someone sitting beside you as I found out in Chicago). Razz

I may be coming straight from my office (King & Bay). Should I be taking the GO train? Cab?

I don't see the need for a theme, but if Todd had some venison on the menu, that would be great. It's been a while since I've eaten it.

We will try to arrive not too late so we are not last minute.
As for wine, theme or no theme, doesn't matter.
I'm thinking of bringing a Condrieu by Tardieu et Laurent, and probably another Rhone (red) from Tardieu et Laurent (St-joseph, Cornas or Cote rotie, 99's I think) if I can find them.

I live near your office, but my office is in Markham. I will get a lift to the restaurant but I'd need to cab it back to the city.

With some many of needing to take cabs back into the city why not cut out the middle-man and have the dinner at a more central locale?

Agreed. You are referring to downtown Unionville I would assume? Wink

DoktaP, Just remember, no matter how plastered "you percieved me to be" Wink, Carriedca's ass is the real culprit in the case of the shattered wine glass! Wink Big Grin

Now the second wine glass that I broke 10 minutes later.... well, I might have been a little "tipsy" at that point and take full responsibility. Big Grin

So what are we up to for the count on Friday? I'm assuming the usual 7pm start at Splat, or is it 7:30?

Dok

Would it too much to ask that you plan a menu for the night? This way, we might be able to match wines by course and not end up with 10 reds.
