Greetings to all of my fellow wine lovers. We are now a little less then two months away from our offline to honor Sacred Cow and his upcoming visit to our fair state of Oklahoma. The main event will be Saturday, October 17 at a location that will remain nameless. I will send you all of the details via private message or email separately. We are currently holding a reservation for 20+ and will need to firm that up as much as possible beforehand so please be mindful of this when signing up as we expect you to attend or pay your fair share should you need to withdraw at the last minute. This will be a GRAND event and we've worked hard to not only secure for you a great venue but also negotiated ZERO corkage fees as well.
For those of you that will be in town on Friday, October 16th we will be having a much smaller and low-key event that evening. Once again I will private message or email you the details of that event separately as well.
There are a lot of activities and sights to see in Oklahoma City and the surrounding countryside so please plan on coming for a nice, relaxing 3 or 4-day weekend. If you are interested I will provide you with links of things to do and see in the area as well as hotel recommendations and alternative restaurants to visit on your extra nights.
Who is in?
Yours truly,
The Planning Committee

I'm still not sure if I can make, might be a last minute call depending on airfares.

For those of you traveling into town and needing a place to stay I encourage you to stay at the Hampton Inn Bricktown. It's brand new having opened in February so it should be in excellent condition. It's also about 360+ feet from the front door of the place we're having dinner Saturday night so it's a very easy walk/stumble/crawl to and from dinner. No driving required. We could also then have a quorum to commandeer their breakfast area off the lobby for a pre and post dinner swill. There's already 5 forum members booked there including PURPLE and myself. Don't hold that against the hotel.

Looks like the wife and I are not going to make it. I just found out that I will be in CA. for the week before touring with Gallo , then its back to IN. to open up my new store downtown. This is one offline that I really wanted to make it to, but at least my bottle will be there in my place....was really looking forward to swapping some recipes with Sap!

Bring out your tired, dessicated Old World fruit and the guest of horror will be happy.
I probably should consider looking for a plane ticket, or just make the decision to drive. Hmm.

Jarhead! We've been wondering how you been buddy, hope the NW is treating you well. If you make it back this way, bet a few other locals will want to get together too. Don't worry, I will still hog the bottles though.

I'll likely bring a 1995 and 1998 Bordeaux Saturday night. Still mulling it over a bit. Not sure about Friday night. Based on the venue I'm really tempted to bring a really old and I mean OLD Barolo just so SC can get his Italian hate fix on.

I saw that WIML. Don't you have to work that weekend now?
Looks like we have something else to "celebrate" now. Blake called to tell me my AARP card arrived in the mail today.
I think I am going to cry all weekend. If I remember to.

wiml , having had the pleasure of enjoying some of your old Barolos, I vote that you bring one of those exciting wines. It isn't often I get to taste Barolos from the 60s & 70s. If Mike hates on them I will drink his share.

All kidding aside, I have not had any Barolo older than mid-80s or so. I vote he brings them too. Maybe I just need to cellar them longer.
Though I might not live long enough to enjoy current releases...
